6. Someone sleeping beside you / in the same room was snoring 🤣.

Snoring can create various sounds so I think Sssss is quite possible. The near and distant thing might be explained by you changing your posture the second time.

Excuse the randomness 🙈😂. My overworked brain refuses to think logically any longer 🤣.

P.S. Are you overworked too right now? Kaha gayab rehte ho? 🤔

You are thinking logically and trying in the right direction too! There could be 101 different reasons. Not very easy to pick the correct one. As I told Sandy, no one else was involved and certainly not a crawly thing. One clue is, it has to do with Physics.

Last night after conversing with Sabi, I went to sleep at about 1:00 AM. I wasn't awake when you posted your reply to my comment. Today whole day I was out. After reading three new updates and posting my comments, I just came back to this topic

Cheers....

@Blue I think that is for the explanation behind near and distant sounds. So then, the thing may not have been moving but you changing your posture resulted in distance.

Physics.

Will try when my mind is in a more... umm working condition. 😆

Arre nahi nahi. I wasn't asking for comments on this particular topic. I was saying in general, infact was glad to see you around yesterday 😃.

And not a Ghost, Zombie or something like that either 🤣.

How about steam? My mum was not certainly awake and cooking in the kitchen. Everybody was sleeping.

By the way that thing was not really moving. That is where physics comes into picture.

What exactly happened was......

Our house was near a railway station and one of the train times were changed from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM. This happened in the days of steam engine trains in India and when I was going to bed like a good girl by 9:00 PM.😊

Back to the incident.

The initial 'Sssss' sound came from the engine when it was prepared and connected to the train.

I realized that the noise was coming from the train when it blew a loud whistle and left the station after few minutes.

Why did it sound differently at different times then?

That is where physics comes into picture.

Sound travels faster and effective through solids than liquid and air. First time when I heard the noise, I was sleeping on my side and my ear was touching the pillow on the Diwan bed I was sleeping on. So it sounded like it was coming from within the room.

After couple of minutes, I thought I need to investigate if I call myself a brave girl. So, looked around found nothing and tried to get back to sleep. This time I slept on my back.

So, next time when the engine made the noise, obviously it sounded different and distant because, neither of my ears were touching the pillow. When I almost figured out the source, the loud whistle confirmed and solved the mystery.

Since then, whenever I hear weird noises while sleeping on my side, I try to find the source and I always succeeded too!

Cheers........

Oh my god!

I wouldn't have thought of this in a 100 years. Not even after you hinted steam .

Acha hua mere buddhe hone ka intezaar nahi kiya and you revealed the suspense 😆.

We were all good girls at that age 😆. I used to sleep at 9:00 - 9:30 around too 😆. But I used to be the gode bechke sone wali person back then, so a Ssssss sound wouldn't have woken me up 🤣.

Miss those good old days 😒.

Thank you for sharing this incident Raji ❤️. And for creating some unnecessary suspense 🤣.
