The story depicts how an educated working woman is trapped into conceiving a child for a childless couple and how suddenly her child is snatched away from her. This is a story of the rude shock this woman receives when she realises that all the love and care and affection her beloved showered on her was only a facade and the impact it has on her. It is also a story of hope and redemption.

Sujata Deshmukh is an educated working woman who has been deprived of love and affection all her life. She seeks shelter with the Joshi couple who take her in and try to find her a suitable alliance. Manohar Lele is a seemingly gentleman who wants a second chance in marriage after the court finalises his divorce from his first wife. While Mrs Joshi is suspicious of the divorce proceedings being delayed unreasonably, she finds that Sujata has gotten too involved in this alliance, as far as conceiving Lele’s child out of wedlock and agreeing for a change of name from Sujata to Kusum in the hospital records. Mrs Joshi tries to warn her at every step to be very careful of Lele as she finds him dodgy. And her suspicions come true. What follows is a spine-chilling yet a cruel joke that fate can play on the life of an unassuming young woman. Help arrives in time from an unexpected source to save her from falling into the black hole of oblivion.

However, while the play ended on the happy note, that is not what happened in real life. The child still with the Leles who thrive respectably in the society and is now probably in his 30s. But the woman, Sujata Deshmukh, is indeed spending lonely days in an ashram and sadly in a dazed oblivion.

Just saw the play, and read the writer's experince about it. after the play became successful, he met even more women who got cheated like sujata and whose voice was never heard. its horrible that such truly evil people exist in our society. I still can't believe that she never got justice. is she in nigdi? I thought she was at some ashram in vardha. and yes, I also think they will try to show Rutuja taking revenge. Subodh seems to have fallen in love with playing negative shades. maybe they help the actors to get even better. Hope it doesn't turn out like TPR.

I am still hoping that this will start as a KML story but it won't be the same. We will come to know from the credit titles where they have to announce that "story is based" on famous play KML.

no mishkil,if it is kml,still they will not accept, as tithe royalty,permission cha prashna pan yeto,so as i already said ,they can turn d table by making rutuja a strong girl just like isha in tpr with d help of rajnandini,here somebody else and make it. fiction.

if they want to make exact kml ,then as u said they will give credit title.so that we come to know.

or they will keep d truth as it is, if its kml,means will not end d show as seen in kml play.

they will show sujata as she is in real life.

actually i dont want kml to see again.

bt by seeing promo,it is kml.its confirmed.have u seen that scene where shridhar put gajara in swati' s hairbin promo,u recollect ,in kml add, they used to put same picture,if u remember.
