Why do you think Rajkumar Rao hasn't succeeded at b.o.?

So...I saw Trapped and what a phenomenal actor he is. He's beyond perfection. But fact remains audiences haven't warmed upto him much. His last outing barely collected 2 crores.

Why do you think he hasn't emerged as a box office success? Is it his choice of scripts, the fact that he doesn't have a larger-than-life persona or what?

Let's face it, he can act the pants off all his contemporaries. He's in a league of his own. And he does have admirers, but not fans.

There are heroes. There are stars. And there are actors. We have enough examples in our industry for each of these categories and there are some names which can appear in all the 3 categories.

But Rajkumar's appeal is restricted. Why is that?

I don't think audience doesn't like him and that's the reason his movies are failing . He is liked by people. Like I said, people don't watch a movie only because of actors but also because of the content. If that would have been the case, SRK would have been still giving hits as he is still a superstar. RKR's most of the good performances were in those movies which were not made for Box Office or masses.

I mean, see him in BKB, even being a supporting actor, he stole the whole show. The movie was successful. Stree, in a similar way. He needs to change his script sense, and I am sure, he will do great.

He's a fab actor, way better than all his contemporaries but sadly his script sense isn't that great. He needs to do a couple more BKB and Stree kinda movies to establish a loyal fanbase.

He has had some success. But I think big success eludes him cause he is missing a certain charm.
