Don't know Kartik's reason, but there are so many who would opt for an artist name that this doesn't matter to me (except for belonging to their artist-biography)... Akshay, e.g. has the birth name of Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia but made the choice to become known as Akshay Kumar... Salman skipped his three previous fornames... Shahrukh separated his forname into two...so what?

There's no so what. They can call themselves princess hitler thong bata swiss cheese for all I care.

One is their legal name and the other is their stage name. Kartik changed it for the same reason others did. For coolsies.

My point is, unless rajkumar legally changed his last name, there's no reason to name his daughter that. But what do I know.

Well, I know that Rajkummar changed his name legally from Yadav to Rao... with Kartik, I think, he also legally determinded his 2nd forname as family name... with the belief in numerology existing in India, it may be easier to legally change names than in other countries.

Amitji's parents' family name Srivastava already got changed by his parents into Bachchan... so, I feel, the name-changing rules may a bit differ from European ones...
