I am willing to re-open this thread with a simple request or warning as a creator of this thread to avoid all kind of passive aggressive behaviour.

And take this as a lesson/warning/request/whatever to never repeat the passive aggressive tone again to allow the positive flow of discussion that happens here.

Drupad had Arjun in mind as son in law, he was impressed by his warrior skills and he needed Arjun on his side or neutral when a battle situation arose with Drona. He had every intention to gain back his lost half of the kingdom. . The swayamavar was designed keeping Arjun in mind. If not Arjun then someone equally capable. Whom he would give Draupadi and maybe through him get the half PAnchal back under the lure of bequeathing it as Draupadi's dowry

Draupadi was not born for Arjun however. She came out of yagyavedi and the prophesy was that she will be the cause of destruction of evil Kshatriya and a means to fulfill God's will.

Nothing to do with Arjun here.

Pandavas came to the Swayamvar to win Draupadi as common wife as had been advised by Vyasa. However if not common wife then only for Yudhishtir. Under no circumstance would Vyasa or Kunti allow Draupadi Arjun marriage. As that will take Arjun away from the family. At that point PAnchal was the only Kingdom standing up against Hastinapur and Jarasandh even after losing half the territory. They need PAnchal to make Yudhi get back his kingdom, not to get Arjuna a kingdom of his own

So under no circumstance was ever Arjuna going to be Draupadi's husband alone.

Because

1. She was not born for Arjun. She was born for destruction of evil kshatriya

2. Pandavas, Vyasa, Kunti wanted Draupadi as bride for Yudhishtir under any circumstance, not Arjun

And post Arjun winning the Swayamavr, Drupad or Draupadi had no say in the matter. And as far as Arjun is concerned if the choice was between Yudhishtir's and Draupadi it would always be Yudhishtir.

So no Draupadi was not born for Arjun, neither was she ever going to be just his wife alone.

So no ArDi star crossed love story could ever exist as far as the author Vyasa was concerned.

It's TV serial makers and Arjun fans who have created this fan fiction. In the epic itself it doesn't exist. Even in other versions of the epic where Draupadi has one husband it is always Yudhi.

So we can actually say that she was born to be Yudhi's wife.

Actually given a choice drapaudi wouldn't have choose arjuna either. Ofcourse at that time she didn't knew what sort of human being yudhishtra was arjuna was slightly better still did not deserve her. But from a young princess pov who has been specially choosen and trained to fullfilll a greater task yudhishtra is anyday a better option since being yudhishtra s wife gives her that position and being drapaudi s husband gives yudhishtra money which he needed. Arjuna was just a medium to reach yudhishtra. vyasa and later krishna to some extent make that happen

But Yudhi it was however much I dislike the fact.

Also that Draupadi was not a dumb teenager who would be crushing on some swashbuckling warrior.

Her characterisation in the epic point to her being well educated in politics, law and finance and she is one of the wisest charachter in the epic.

She would have definetly seen the merit in marrying Yudhi with whom she would actually lead a more purposeful life. What would she do after marrying Arjun other than be the mother of his children.

Infact her cheerful demeanour at the potter's Hut is the proof that she did find it positive that she will be marrying Yudhi (too).

I agree to u on everything except one it's not Arjun's fans but ardi fans , thou some of Ardi fans claim themselves arjun fans, taki jhoote arjun fans ko pare.

I know majority of arjun fans who don't like ardi pair.
