Nah he did need the best directors and writers for his mediocre nepotism products because he had to prove to the world that they were good actors. Getting to act in films with good writing and director than an extract a performance out of you helps you acting. So he does do his homework in trying to find the best there. It is who can be seen onscreen and become the star that people recognize on the streets is where he discriminates.

Made it all right for the hero to be not terribly macho. The world needs less alpha holes.
