From what I heard SRK received hate from both insiders and outsiders when he first entered. People use to doubt he could become big due to his hair, his appearance, among other things. But once he made it big, he was respected from all corners.

Divya and Juhi reacted seeing him for the first time, later liked him. Probably everyone did. His charisma took over.

SRK said that Salman's family took him and treated him like their own. That's why he's always so grateful to their family. I'm not sure others treated him.

I’m sure he was. But things went well. He social networked and worked hard on his movies. He made right contacts.

Aamir Khan once said that SRK is quite manipulative. Slowly and gradually he made strong liaisons with big banners. Befriended YRF and Karan well.

I just feel the industry was different in the 90s. It was more open to outsiders. But again people questioned his appearance. Meaning that seemed to have some importance back in the 90s if you wanted to be in the mainstream. But he had other star quality. Madhuri, Juhi, among other outsiders flourished. Meanwhile Karishma had to work her way up. Those were different times.
