Part 13 (a)

Shyam – one name which is despised in this house but anintegral part without any one liking. Arnav never understood how he becameAnjali Di husband and why Kushi has supported the decision but he knows boththe ladies don’t like Shyam much. Then why the hell did he enter this house isalways a mystery to him. His father who doesn’t care much about thesurroundings also didn’t like Shyam much but he agreed his daughter to getmarried to this person. What kind of father he was, he didn’t like this guy andit’s not like Anjali Di loved this guy why did he allow his daughter to getmarried that idiotic low life he never under stood?

He has to get answers. He is not known for having patience.He doesn’t like to be patient. He has been very patient with Kushi being distant,he was patient when he was sent to Harvard against his wishes, he was patientwhen he couldn’t understand why his parents never cared about him, he waspatient when Raj bhaiyaa went to jail and no one told him anything, he waspatient when Anjali di got married, he was patient when he has known his motherindia is not his mother and he was patient when he got know about will but he can’twait anymore. Kushi anyways is not in a position to tell him anything. She isconstantly in and out of consciousness which only made him fear what’s theextent of fear she has in her about this leech named Shyam

Only one person can answer him and that is Anjali Di, ifonly she answers truly. When he approached all were sitting on dining table forlunch but no one was actually eating. This house was never a happy, joyous andalive but it was never this gloomy. It has witnessed many problems but he can’ttake how things are going. He can’t sit quiet and see that the house is fallingapart

Even NK who wassitting there and listening doesn’t know how to stop this discussion because helikes both Arnav and Anjali but he really wants to know all the secrets ofRaizada mansion. Enough of this hide and seek and elders covering the secretsfor youngsters. When he got to know his share in Raizada industries is someonecharity he felt bad. He not only felt bad on the elders to hide it but also onhis parents how they can ask something which is not theirs

Do u remember Kushi Class X farewell party Chote?

Yep he remembers that unfortunate day where he and Kushifought like anything for the first time. Kushi completed her class X and sheactually tried a frock which is decent but very much body fitting for thefarewell party which he didn’t like a little bit. He knows she needs freedombut then she is too young to understand the vultures of this society and she isjust 15 for heaven’s sake, how can Garima aunty or Shashi uncle allow her towear that. He knows he is being a possessive jerk because Anjali Di also woresuch outfit and even Payal too but then this is Kushi. She doesn’t even know heloves her, what if someone proposes her and she accepts

She was twirling before him and asking if the frock suitsher. This is the first time she is wearing a Disney themed princess dress. AnjaliDi has designed this dress and she is more than happy to wear this.

Arnav why are you looking so grumpy tell me na how is thedress complained Kushi to an irritated Arnav

Kushi can you change the dress; it looks not so good on youthe possessive beast in him replied not even thinking about the consequences

Kushi being Kushi said in a no-nonsense tone that Raj bhaiyaa or AnjaliDi will drop me or even Payal jiji might drop, she has a Scooty now. She evenirritated him saying she will go with NK as both will go to same place. Beforehe can stop his caustic tongue, he said that of course you want to gainattention from all elite boys wearing such dress and that comment moved kushito tears and all the elders to scold him

He tried explaining in his own ways but none listened andfinally he left the house in haste to be away because no one really understandhis insecurities

Coming out of past memories he could only ask Anjali whatexactly she wants to point out that day

Chote that day when you went away, Kushi cried a lot but me,Payal and Raj has convinced her a lot that you will come around. We convincedher to go to the party and she agreed but Raj has one condition that he willstay outside her campus until she comes out and she should come out if there isany thing inappropriate and I went with Raj to drop her

Yes, I remembered NK said – that day Kushi was upset becausesomeone is making fun of me and her. She ran away from the party to complain toRaj about that but then she ran away into the bushes crying

I have earned alittle with the job I had for their education but this venture is my dream heused to say and I have always stood with him. You know because he is the onlyperson in my growing years with me. Akku you went to Harvard at the age of 20and you happily stayed there for 5 years forgetting all the responsibilitieshere and I was thrown into this business world. If not for chote I wouldsulking in that raizada construction industries. Chote was just 15 when I wasfighting for my right at 20, still he used to stand for me. That’s why I ammore attached to him than you my twin

Guilt washed over Akash; he knows he wasn’t a good siblingfor Chote but he never thought he was being unfair for Anjali too

Anyways coming to the point Kushi left to the bushes and forheavens sake we were just kissing but Kushi being Kushi just ran away seeing uslike that. When we went in the way Kushi went there Kushi was captured by someguy who has a gun and he is targeting her and our dear Dad

We really didn’t understand what is happening there? We don’twho is that guy and we don’t know why he is threatening Dad, we just know Kushiand Dad are in danger. When we were about to plan the next course of action Dadhas shot that guy and he was unconscious. Before we know anything Shyam came fromhis hiding and was telling Dad that he has recorded everything the boy said andhe has taken pics of his shooting and he will go to police. Raj and me weretrying to convince Shyam but he was adamant. And do u know what happened, theguy died and Raj took the entire blame on him because he didn’t want Dad to gothru jails at his age.

When police arrived Raj has surrendered himself but thenShyam didn’t stop blackmailing daddy. One day Shyam said if he wants none ofthe documents to come out then dad has to agree my marriage with Shyam and I haveagreed because the documents which Shyam has are not only the pictures of hisshooting of that unknown guy but also documents of our previous Raizada exportand import business which was involved in so many frauds. Chacha is the ownerbut at one point of time Dad was equal owner and he has those documents whichstates Dad being the owner and he was blackmailing that he will go to pressabout these and he will show to the world that Raizadas are not what they show.Our whole reputation is at stake Chote and our whole family would be abandonedif anything comes out. Its not just me or Dad but whole of us would be facing alot of trouble. And that guy who got killed is none other than our cousin andhe wanted property on his name.

For others it might look lame for me to accept the marriageand for some it might look like dad and me are cowards but then that’s whateven Shashi uncle and Raj has agreed on because Raizada industries was alreadyin bad position then. Akash was in Harvard; I am very new to the business andChote is very young to take care of business. How would you think if Dad got arrested,we will survive? Of course, we have Shashi uncle but then there are so manyunfinished businesses for dad to handover all the things to us. Its just notproperty alone, its reputation of our house

What the hell you have done Anju? Is this the reason tosacrifice yourself. And why exactly Raj bhaiyaa has to go thru 10 years of jailfor this? Dad shot him and he died and dad has to suffer. How can you do thatto yourself my dear sis asked Akash

Yes, Di how did you do that – Arnav questioned. May be ifyou have said the whole issue to us, we might have come to some conclusion. Thiswouldn’t have been the solution. You and Raj bhaiyaa are suffering because ofsomeone

Di Is Raj bhaiyaa adopted by my parents questioned Payal.But we don’t know anything. But why exactly he has to feel that my parentsnever showed any difference to him and he is a great brother to us

Payal it is not about adoption or your parents being unfair,its just that Raj used to feel that he used to do something for those who hastaken care of him when he was on streets

Chote and Akki its not for Dad I did but its for all of us.As I said Raizada industries was not in a good shape then and a small hint ofDad getting arrested or associated with some drug dealing comes out we wouldhave been doomed. And with us there would be number of families which would bedoomed. Even Raj sacrificed because of that. He said if he went to jail hisparents and kid sisters will feel bad but then they will survive but if Dadgoes all of us might come on roads and so many families which depend on us mightbe on streets

Di why exactly Kushi supported the decision of you marryingShyam

Because she is witness to everything Chote. She knows aboutShyam blackmailing us and Dad getting heart attack at that time and Dad tookpromise from her that she will send you to Harvard away from this mess and shewill take care of you. He loved you dearly Chote, more than me and Akku he loved you. Of course you are his lover Ratna kin.

Welcome back! I am eagerly waiting to know what happened to Khushi and what that pathetic man called Shyam did to her. People can keep secrets, but at what cost? Can't they see how Khushi and Arnav are suffering? It is about time they revealed the truth.

Did it all start when Khushi finished year 10? That was a long time ago.
