I would like to analyse what if Dhrity wasn’t blind like someone said!

The basic thing about dhrity was that he had an inherent weakness in his very character itself. That means he could never stand Up with the right or against the wrong!

his blindness not only magnified his weakness but also became an excuse (sort of dikhawe ke liye that see I m weak because I m blind, if you get what I mean).

one more thing before we move in to analyse what if he wasn’t blind - the throne on which he sat for a long without actually enjoying it. That throne was (in his opinion) his birthright! He grew up preparing to rule! Then just before the crowning ceremony he gets a jolt. A morally strong person in his place would have also hv been disappointed but would have wholeheartedly accepted that decision as one for the greater good n have actually helped pandu run the empire. But the morally weak person that dhrity was, that disappointment gave way to deep resentment n bitterness.

And when he got the throne when Pandu went for vanvas n later after he died, he still couldn’t feel satisfied because he felt like he got his own right as a proxy kind of thing. So he couldn’t enjoy the throne fully n his ambitions remained unfulfilled and so he wanted Dury to be the king so as to realise those unfulfilled ambitions

Long post so will continue later

To continue from my post above,

What if he wasn’t blind: let’s follow the logical sequence from what we know happened! And here I stick to only what was shown in Brc mb.

1. He would hv been kind so ambition fulfilled. So no disappointment or bitterness, so that build up of frustration that injustice was done to me wouldn’t be there. Yes, he would still hv wanted Dury to succeed him but maybe the sane advice of the great men in company of whom he lived - Vidur, Bhishma, Drona, kripa n pandu (who knows the entire sequence of events leading to his death wouldn’t hv happened if dhrity was normal) would hv prevailed on him if he dint have that inherent bitterness n frustrations within.

2. Then Gandhari wouldn’t hv blindfolded herself n would have overseen the moral education of her sons and could hv made better men of her sons .. not good like Ps maybe but not this bad/evil either.

3. If Gandhari dint blindfold herself n dhrity too could see n was ruling hp, no reason for Shakuni to be in hp either. so no undue/bad influence of Shakuni on dhrity. In fact Shakuni would not have spent that much time with dhrity to spot his inherent weakness, much less prey on it.

4. No Shakuni in hp so no bad influence of his on Dury n Kauravas. And Dury even if inherently bad would have improved in the company of good men n so wouldn’t be this obsessed with the throne

5. so maybe the throne would hv gone to either Dury or Yudhi but many bad things including the war wouldn’t hv happened

Achha if Dhrity was born normally, why would they go in for the 2nd niyog? They would stop at it na. And even if they got Pandu as like a safety check, Vidur would probably not have taken birth?

I often think that Dhritarashtra's physical prowess often goes unsung of. Like, there're only a few mentions and one clear incident but it is clear Dhrity was way stronger than Dury OR Bheem.

He was soo strong even Krishna didn't let Bheem get close to him after the war! 🤔
