and the famous baba track, inspite of kuhu warning her, 'tu aur abir jo bhi plan kar rahe ho usse iss family mein major crisis ho raha hai, sab bahut pareshan hain' & she chose to bring baba on abir's bday as surprise, without any warning?

and I really do not buy this 'intention over action excuse', just to whitewash the lead characters, and to conveniently forget it for other characters, didnt kunal & kuhu both back down after spiking the drinks? so why are their actions being reprimanded?

on second thoughts, I think I am more annoyed at the writers for the hypocrisy & as you all say 'the manipulative writing', the same act is justified with reasons for leads & others are reprimanded and criticised I also find the dialogues & monologues quite misleading as if to whitewash the characters😡

and I find Kaveri the most beautiful, talented & graceful actress on this show, and maybe not being a fan of the FL's looks or monotonous acting anymore adds to my dislike for the character

though I like Rhea, I find her cuteđŸ€Ș but not as Mishti

p.s. let me know if I went overboard with my rant & need to edit this post to maintain the rules of this AT

yes I think Jasmeet informs Kunal when she comes at rjvsđŸ€“

I am not sure about the caption of this post that Kunal wanted to know if Kuhu is keeping the fast, I think he already knew she is, because Nidhi maami & Parul maasi were preparing KC thaali for her & sent it with abir to maheshwaris

maybe he wanted to inform Kuhu to not have hopes of him coming for KC & thus maybe find a way to not keep the fast & be hungry the whole dayđŸ„ș

@Meera: Yay! I'm so glad you liked it smiley4 I was also grinning from ear to ear while making it because the scenes it required were sooo adorable. It's amazing how much versatility this story and pair have with so little screen space. smiley42

@aqua: Thanks you for appreciating the specific parts! smiley27 I like how the candle scene showed up as well, but my favourite bit would have to be "ab hum yahan se jaye kahan." Nervous, uncoordinated Kunal never fails to bring on the giggles, and I was really happy with how the timing worked out.

Re. Mishti -- I don't think we disagree, actually. My problem has never been with her flaw of biting off more than she can chew but rather with how the writing never forces her to learn from that. She just keeps doing the same thing again and again, and circumstances conveniently rearrange to get her exactly what she wants instead of her having to go through any internal change or growth. Like instead of her realising she made a mess by agreeing to marry Nishant and facing what would have been rightful anger from her family (a K3G-style Mishti/BP conflict would be such rich story material), they made Nishant go off the deep end so the path was cleared for her and Abir to be together without her having to introspect. And it would have made way more sense storywise, for example, if Abir did break up with her because she went off to deal with baba on her own and he felt he couldn't trust her. This would have lent depth to both characters and paved the way for a genuine growth arc individually and in their relationship.

Take Kuhu for instance (and I am talking about the structure of the writing here, not about which character is better/worse or right/wrong). She made the mistake of trusting Kunal and her love too easily the first time around, she got hurt, and that reflected directly on her actions, especially after the leap. She made sure she was self sufficient and refused to accept anything short of a confession of love from Kunal (when before the divorce papers she was happy even with his little gestures) before she agreed to give the marriage another go. Even now, we see the ripple effects of their earlier equation where she doesn't trust him with the darker side of herself. There is actual conflict, introspection, and growth there that makes the story more compelling and well, an actual story.

OMG! How is that song SO PERFECT?! It captures both Kunal and Kuhu's POV on such a cellular level. smiley3

@Peace: As usual we are totally on the same page about everything. smiley4

It seems like we are supposed to believe Mishti's words over her actions and I find that very difficult. When Kuhu demanded the mandap, Mishti was all self-righteous saying the only thing that mattered to her was her love and getting married to Abir. Okay sure, but if that's really the case, then why did you spend most of the day ransacking Kuhu's cupboard and trying to read her private mail during your wedding function? It just doesn't add up, and like you said, the show damns whoever expresses this as insensitive towards Mishti.

Again, there is a great story and conflict there if only the writers would allow the other characters as much sympathy as the leads. It may not be Mishti's fault that there is a divide in the Maheshwari family because of her (it's totally BM and BP's) but that doesn't mean Jasmeet, Varsha, and Kuhu's resentment is not valid, no?

Hi all, since I love all your thoughts/analysis on kuku scenes, I wanted to share a short scene I had actually forgotten but watched today. Just before Kunal agrees for Gordhana with Mishti at Mah house, there is a short Abir-Kunal convo (immediately after he ends his call with Kuhu where she spots him lying that he has left and isn't waiting for her.)

Abir is looking sad so Kunal asks him the reason and then assumes it was because of the fire in NGO. He assures Abir that he will manage the insurance and jokes, asking Abir to smile coz Kuhu won't let them smile once she is there. Abir smiles and asks if Kunal wonders that if Meenu hadnt swapped rishta, he would have been Kuhu right then. Kunal laughs it off saying then it's good that mom swapped rishta. Abir insists that you and Mishti are very different, to which he says thats why we are doing the Pre marital courtship. Kunal says I will go inside and get Kuhu coz I can't wait anymore. As he steps away, Abir asks him if he loves Mishti. Kunal is quiet, he turns back to Abir and says "Now you are talking like Kuhu."

Sorry I am unable to post a video and it would have been much easier. But I was surprised that while on one hand he laughed off that it's good he isn't getting married to Kuhu, he would divert a conversation about Mishti by changing the topic/bringing in Kuhu.

This was from episode 47. I would love to hear your take on this scene, if you find it interesting. If not, please feel free to ignore this post.

PS: I am loving all your new VMs and edits on Insta, so keep them coming.

It seems like we are supposed to believe Mishti's words over her actions and I find that very difficult.

exactly, her actions & words never match, its as if the writers try to justify her deeds later on, by giving her monologues to show her pov & her insecurities

and ofcourse this liberty is exclusively reserved for the FL of the show only

When Kuhu demanded the mandap, Mishti was all self-righteous saying the only thing that mattered to her was her love and getting married to Abir. Okay sure, but if that's really the case, then why did you spend most of the day ransacking Kuhu's cupboard and trying to read her private mail during your wedding function?

there was not a single act of her during this divorce paper revelation which can be justified for me, from ransacking Kuhu's cupboard, taking the lawyer's call, then pressurizing her to reveal the truth by threatening her to accompany to the spa for the facial, even later on during mishku confrontation I didnt find a single valid argument from her side

and also during mishbir shaadi at the bus rooftop, she doesnt realise while planning that there will not be enough space for pheras but abir comes to rescue by lifting her & managing the pheras

par ab har kisi ko toh itna supportive, devoted & understanding husband nahi milta na, who would cover-up his wife's mistakes with wise solutions

for example kuhu, uska husband hota toh ulta chilla deta of being so stupid & immature & thus not thinking through in advance

It just doesn't add up, and like you said, the show damns whoever expresses this as insensitive towards Mishti.

yes, because its Mishti's story, but wasnt it supposed to be a family show? and every rishta & character was to be explored because 'ye rishtey hain pyaar ke', ofcourse with leads as saving grace & making everything right at the end of each track & thus establishing their status of hero/heroine of the show, but hello, show the initial progression atleast

Again, there is a great story and conflict there if only the writers would allow the other characters as much sympathy as the leads.

this white vs grey (leads vs all other characters one by one) is something which has ruined itv for most people, but I am surprised by this show, if their flaws were never going to be explored then why was so much time spent on establishing these characters as flawed, just to make them relatable & thus attract more eyeballs?

It may not be Mishti's fault that there is a divide in the Maheshwari family because of her (it's totally BM and BP's) but that doesn't mean Jasmeet, Varsha, and Kuhu's resentment is not valid, no?

why their resentment doesnt gets explored & addressed is something I fail to understand, I initially thought that they would do so in future but I have no hopes anymore, the trp audience is already falling for the crap like BP-BM as ideal parents😡
