since we were discussing about kunal pinning kuhu to the wall in this scene a few days back, so sharing here as the caption gives a reason for that part:

The way Kunal closes their distance while fighting ❤️

The lockdown is getting to me now. My brain and body is slowly stopping functioning.

Thanks everyone! As I mentioned, I made the VM out of pure frustration so I’m surprised a lot of people liked it. The other one I made out of frustration -https://www.instagram.com/p/B_NL2-Sprgy/?igshid=1dov6d18loctx

@Meera: I agree about the spiking. Your point on date raping was the first thing I thought when the spiking topic was discussed previously. But I’ve learnt, the debate of morality in ITV shows is kinda pointless. Everything is justified ifdone by the leads or if it agrees with the writer/director – manipulative writing.

@sam: I watched your VM while I was making chapatti’s and I was smiling like an idiot. My mum and sister were slightly freaked out and walked out of the kitchen. It’s a lovely VM. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy. We need more sweeter, romantic scenes, at least for VM purposes.

@peace: I second your rant on mishti. And I'll leave it at that before we get chided like school kids.

peace, I never really found the 'pinning' scene convincing. I can't remember what I had said the last time this was brought up but I didn't like it.

Sam, as usual, gave a beautiful analysis on physical proximity and their growing relationship but I'm still not convinced. I just don't see the romance in it.

So I was just rewatching the hospital scene and I felt the need to share two details that made my heart melt for these two all over again!

1. SHE IS HOLDING HIS FINGER smiley38

Image

I don't know why but this detail gets me every time I watch this scene. It just conveys something so poignant, childlike, and vulnerable about Kuhu's state and her feelings for Kunal.

2. LOOK HOW HE IS HOLDING HER SO CLOSE WITH BOTH HANDS 😭

Image

This is when he's saying he's right there and that he's telling the absolute truth this time. I just noticed this and it has all of my heart, as well as the fact that I can continue to notice such beautiful details after so many rewatches.

THESE TWO ❤️

@Snow: Thanks! I am so glad you liked the VM and love that your reaction to it freaked out family members. Can there be any higher praise? smiley36 I really loved your new one as well, and I so agree that we need more cute, romantic scenes with these two. They pull off every shade of their love story so well

The way I understood the pinning scene was that Kunal thought their equation had changed after the hospital, not realising that Kuhu didn't remember any of it. I remember at the time there was a BTS segment which had a much gentler version of the scene, where Kunal just blocked and cornered Kuhu instead of pinning her with his hands. I personally liked that version better, but my guess would be they wanted that shot of his hands letting go of her when he realises she isn't on the same page.

Totally with you guys on the spiking issue -- ethics of convenience all the way. 🤔 And I will say again that in the midst of all the spiking, I LOVE that our Kuhu happily got herself wasted on some good old contraband. What a gal! 😃

@Peace: Saaware is giving me some ideas 😉

Saaaaaaammm!!! Don't do this to me!!

Dil hi pighal gaya mera to!🙈🙈🙈

Snow!! That song went straight to my playlist after watching your VM and I was listening to it on repeat till mum called me for dinner.

Also, I totally imagined your mom and sister being freaked out and walking out of the kitchen🤣. It's so intriguing that I can imagine a scenario without having actual faces (because I have no idea how you look). Brains be crazy! And now I sound crazy🙆🏻‍♀️

Meera: 💯. I don't have anything to add. I think you and Peace said it all.

EDIT: Sam, our chhokri is the shizzz.

Re. Pinning: I don't remember the previous discussions on the scene as of now but I am on the fence about the scene being romantic or imagining that Kunal is in love here. I mean, he has been attracted to her and cares for her and love bohot chhupa hua hai but the fact of the matter is that he still has no clue what he feels for Kuhu, not now and definitely not then. He just wanted Kuhu to have realised that he is not leaving this time without actually having to say it again when she was conscious and when that did not happen, he kind of lost it (like the market scene after divorce). Also, I don't like the invasion of personal space like that and I think you guys are aware of how much I appreciate the fact that their touches have mostly been consentual.

Also, story recommendation if anyone wants to read a fic with all 4 characters teaming up and not having to take sides between couples or characters, there is one on the main forum. It continues after the Mahashivratri incident and though the story has a lot of things going on, it's pretty refreshing to read.

I have a little different opinion of the 'pinning' scene, I didnt find it aggressive or invading personal space only because Kuhu has granted Kunal the right to that space, she has been head over heels for him. Up until this scene Kunal usually just placed his arm or blocked her way to prevent her from leaving or grabbed her forearm (after KC cake scene), because he didnt know or acknowledged his feelings towards her as they were clouded by the events of the past, Meenu and Abir.

In this scene when Kunal grabs her, he thinks that they are close enough now that he accepted her as his wife, took care of her, assured her that he wont be leaving. He was frustrated that despite the emotions he showed, Kuhu left him and here she was still marking the calendar. He wasnt expecting this. He should have realized that everything he said was to a unconcious Kuhu and he wasnt there when she actually came to her senses, so from Kuhu's perspective Kunal doesnt care for her, but from Kunal's they made progress in this relationship.

Once he realized that Kuhu is not on the same terms he didnt try to grab her again. He had grabbed her hand or arm and after that scene he has never pinned, her not even during explosive Kuhu.

I have to say you've almost convinced me, like 95%. That 5% left is due to my own aversion to people invading my personal space so technically, I am convinced and I agree with you.

My god, Sam, your attention to detail ❤️. The way she's holding his finger definitely melts my heart 😭.

Does anyone else love the way Kuhu holds Kunal☺️.

SNOW!! Aap bhi kuch kam nahi hai ☺️

And totally -- the way Kuhu holds/touches Kunal always conveys such a soft, soothing feeling. My other favourite is during the visarjan fight when he accuses her of not loving him because she doesn't understand him and she says "pyar karti hoon" and puts her hand on his face. The way his expression changes from rage to vulnerability in a second is just... haye.
