Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai were seen together publicly on Thursday evening, making their first joint appearance amid ongoing divorce rumours. The couple attended the annual day celebration of Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai, where their daughter Aaradhya studies.

In a video circulating on social media, Abhishek and Aishwarya were seen arriving at the venue together. Abhishek walked slightly ahead and was seen assisting Aishwarya as they made their way inside. Aishwarya was dressed in a black suit, while Abhishek opted for a relaxed, casual look. They were also accompanied by Aishwarya’s mother, Brindya Rai.

The appearance comes just days after Abhishek addressed the speculation around his marriage in an interview with Peeping Moon. Responding to reports suggesting a separation, he called the claims “malicious and completely untrue.” “If you’re a public figure, people are going to speculate about every little thing. Whatever rubbish has been written is absolutely false. None of it is based on fact, it’s just wrong and intentionally hurtful,” Abhishek said.

He further explained that such rumours are not new to their relationship. “Before we got married, they were guessing our wedding dates. After we got married, they started deciding when we’re separating. It’s all nonsense. She knows my truth, I know hers. We return to a loving, grounded family and that is what truly matters,” he added.

When asked whether the constant chatter affects him personally, Abhishek was clear in his response. “No. If there was even a shred of truth, perhaps they would. But there isn’t,” he said.

For context, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai got married in 2007 and are parents to Aaradhya Bachchan. Speculation about trouble in their marriage began last year and gained momentum after the two arrived separately at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding celebrations.

The rumours were further fuelled when Aishwarya shared pictures from Aaradhya’s birthday celebration that did not feature members of the Bachchan family, including Abhishek. Additionally, Abhishek was not seen publicly supporting Aishwarya during her Cannes appearance earlier this year.
