Flashback 2008: Why couldn't Genelia live upto the hype?

She was very good in Jaane Tu...and was so cute n adorable. Her goofiness was so fresh. She was such a screen scorcher, stealing the show right from under Imran's nose. She was all firecracker eyes and irrepressible smile, spirited and natural. Why couldn't she make it big in Bollywood?

She could have been a second Preity Zinta. Why couldn't she capitalize on the success of this movie?

I dont think she was very ambitious since the beginning. She did her share of work but I guess she really wanted to settle down since she was dating Ritesh since years. Married life seems to do well for her :)

Yeah they really look made for each other😳 Like, a totally compatible couple in all possible ways. I guess it doesn't happen that often in Bollywood.

She was at the top in the Telugu industry, when she got married and took a hiatus! So yeah, I think it is more a case of not being interested in making a career in the movies!

you should understand by now how the industry works. Girls have to do a lot and let go of their dignity if they want to remain on top. Genelia was never those try-hard types and never had that ambition of reaching the top. I think these cute girls type, they find it better to settle down than playing the Bollywood politics. Same with Ayesha Takia, Amrita Rao and many more.

Genelia was so one-noted as an actress, only suited for a certain type of role, she wasn't versatile at all. So its obvious she flopped, then got married & settled down.
