I blame the director entirely, he came out in public TIME AND TIME AGAIN to pronounce the toxic behaviour in his film. If he didn't do that, perhaps the audiences would have been more forgiving, and the award shows less scared.

But it's a huge shame because Shahid Kapoor as Kabir Singh was the best performance of 2019 by a Male Actress.

I don't think, the audience who made the movie the second highest grossing movie of the year, had any issue. I think majority of the accounts criticising FF is for snub of Shahid and HR in best actor awards, apart from the music awards,Anniepie winning.

While I also don't think, award presentators didn't gave it any award for social media backlash, I think the main reason Shahid didn't win any awards is the clique that of Zoya and Kjo and their allies wanfed to have a Oscar like grand slam,clean sweep win for Gully Boy.

Gully Boy having the record is ok with me as I enjoyed it more than previous record holder Black. Black was boring AF 😆

But it set precedents that a film can win so many awards. Then we got people winning power awards. Same actor winning best actress and best supporting actress. If all that was given more concern didnt happen then GB dont sweep this year 😆

Idk who were the contenders then in that year ... nonetheless just coz it wasn't called out before , doesn't mean it shudnt be now. Atleast quite clear how a sizeable section din't like GB.

If FF best actor popular is given to the most popular and highest grossing films Shahid would have never won for Haidar (an average grosser) over Aamir for PK and HR for BangBang. Yes I also think that there's no rule about which actor gets the popular award but when we choose between nominations, we can certainly sort out the more deserving candidate. This year had some of the best actors in the nominations, it's always a tough choice when Hrithik, Shahid, Ranveer, AB Sr are the best performances of the year, so my point was that this year RS didn't deserve it given the criteria of both Kabir Singh and Agent Kabir being massively popular characters and performances too.

I believe Salman should have won for BB and Shahid for Haider in critics choice, I really loved Bajrangi but again Salman's performances never won him much accolades what Shahid, Hrithik or Ranveer gets from their movies.
