Preity Zinta reacts to viral video suggesting she ignored Aamir Khan: ‘This kind of clickbait.....'

Preity Zinta has responded to a viral paparazzi video that suggested she ignored Aamir Khan during the promotions of Batwara 1947. The actress clarified that there was no awkwardness between the two and said she simply did not notice him at the time.

The video, recorded during a promotional appearance in Mumbai, shows Preity stepping out of her vanity van and asking photographers, “One minute, guys, where do I have to go?” After being directed, she walks away while Aamir can be seen standing near his vanity van.

A paparazzi account shared the clip with the caption, “Oh no, Preity Zinta ignored Aamir Khan?” The post prompted Preity to respond in the comments, objecting to the way the brief moment had been presented online.

“This kind of clickbait content is not cool. I didn't see Aamir as I was in a rush to shoot some shots inside and then catch a flight for Batwara 1947 promotions. Next time please don't expect me to stop and take pictures if your intent is to promote any kind of negativity! I have a LOT of love & respect for Aamir, so this is not in good taste (sic),” she wrote.

Preity and Aamir are currently promoting Batwara 1947, with Preity playing a key role in the film and Aamir backing the project through Aamir Khan Productions. The film also marks Preity’s return to the big screen after an eight year gap.

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, Batwara 1947 is set in Lahore against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition of India. The cast includes Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, Karan Deol, Abhimanyu Singh, Kanikka Kapur and Khushi Hajare.

The film has attracted attention ahead of its theatrical release, particularly because of its subject and ensemble cast. Preity’s response also highlights how brief interactions at public events can be interpreted differently when circulated without context.

Batwara 1947 is scheduled to release in theatres on August 14. Preity and Aamir are expected to continue their promotional appearances ahead of the release in the coming days.
