| The television actress says marriage is on the cards for her and director beau Vikram Ghai
Television director Vikram Ghai (brother of actress Pooja Ghai) and actress Naazneen Patel are the newest couple in Tellywood.
Both met on the sets of UTV's afternoon soap Bhabhi, where Naazneen plays Megha and Vikram (till recently) was director of the Star show. He now directs the Zee soap, Maayka.
When asked about the relationship, Naazneen is forthright, "There is no point hiding the relationship as we hang out together and also with Pooja.
We are serious about each other and marriage is definitely on the cards."
Friends first
Naazneen, who was previously an air hostess with Saudi Arabian Airlines, turned to acting with Kahiin Kissi Roz (Star).
She has featured in shows like Kkehna Hai Kuch Mujhko (Sony) and Pancham (Zee).
She has been in Bhabhi for over a year and will also feature in the relaunced SAB show, Yes Boss, from next month.
"I have known Vikram since the day I started working on Bhabhi," says Naazneen.
"Initially, it was a professional relationship.
I used to call him Sir! It was only after an outdoor shoot schedule on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway that we became close.
The unit guys started teasing him about me and he would blush whenever they spoke about me.
After that, we became very close. It then became more than a professional relationship. We started talking a lot and eventually started going out as well."
Families aware
Vikram was earlier associated with shows like Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. He was also part of his sister Pooja's venture with her beau Vikas Kalantri, in setting up their production house, White Leaf Product-ions.
"I will always support Pooja in her endeavours, whether I direct them or not," adds Vikas, who is setting his sights on turning film director. "Both our families are aware of the relationship and have given their approval," says Vikas.
Adds Naazneen, "Things are okay at my home front too, except for my dad. He'll need a lot of convincing but I'm sure he'll understand."
At the moment, both are taking each day as it comes. "We'd rather concentrate on our work," say the duo.
