This is pretty much the first for any actor. Though many stars and superstars have featured in sequels and franchise flicks, this is the first time ever when a top young star in appearing in as many as three such films and that too in a single calendar year. After delivering three back to back superhits, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (2018), Luka Chuppi and Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019), Kartik Aaryan is now embarking on a solid 2020 ahead. He would be seen heading three films – Aaj Kal, Dostana 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and each of these is a second instalment of a hit franchise which is in the making.

What makes matters interesting is that he is the new actor on board for each of these films. While Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham/Abhishek Bachchan and Akshay Kumar features in Love Aaj Kal, Dostana and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Kartik Aaryan has stepped in as a young star in these three franchises to take it forward.
Of course, all eyes would be on him to perform as the success of these three films would mean a hattrick year for Kartik. No wonder, the youngster is giving his all to ensure that enjoy just lives up to the expectations but goes far beyond that. In a couple of days from now the promotion of Imtiaz Ali directed Aaj Kal would begin. The film with Sara Ali Khan as his leading lady is all set for Valentine’s Day release and would be the first romantic musical of 2020.
Dostana 2 pairs him up with Janhvi Kapoor and Karan Johar is making sure that the wait from Dostana to Dostana 2 would indeed be worth it. As is the expectation from this franchise, the idea is to make an entertainer centred on a homosexual relationship and with Kartik in there, lots of smiles and laughs are in the offering. On the other hand, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a horror comedy, the genre that Kartik hasn’t explored yet. Basis what is being heard from insiders, Kartik is working really hard to bring in a different facet of his acting style on screen and is indulging in quite some pre-shoot preparations to get his act perfect before he faces the camera.
With these three films expected to release in a span of six to eight months, there is a lot more that one would be hearing and seeing of Kartik Aaryan in time to come.
