Eventually, what matters is the lifetime collections of the films and not the opening numbers. It's sheer lazy approach which attributes opening numbers to stardom. Sometimes people are not free on a working day Friday.

For e.g. - I am a big fan of Deepika but I will wait till Saturday to watch Chapaak.

The thing is that WOM takes over from the second day, so it's difficult to make out from the collections, that whether the numbers are because of stardom or WOM.

Uri's lifetime collections are 244 Crores which is more than Simmba's 239 Crores. But you'll never see me joking about it even though I'm recognized as a Ranveer hater here. That's because I know that Uri worked mostly because of WOM.

I get your point but technically don't the reviews come out by late morning Friday? How do you know that people who go on Friday evenings don't go by the content instead of stardom?

I want to budge in. My opinion on the topic is somewhat different but I had to barge in to say that what you said @bold is almost untrue. People going out on Fridays, mornings or evenings have almost have their advance booking done. I have hardly seen anybody going on a movie on Fridays and booking the ticket on same day...lol... Also OTC booking has dropped drastically after paytm/online booking trend.

Let's admit TM, war opened to 50 cr not because of 🐅 Shroff, whether anybody likes it or not, it's the truth. I'm not discrediting 🐅 of anything but War opening to 50 crs coz of him sounds as much believable as Ananya's struggling story.
