My gender biasness won't take away the fact about VDW skewed notion of progressiveness, thanks.

When I watched this movie, I got the message that you should surround yourself with friends, family and loved ones. And obviously, things don't always work out in a linear fashion, but you will get through the uncertainty.
You haven't watched this movie, why are you shtting on it? Did kareena snatched the role from pc?

Opinion on movies are never "facts"! You're welcome!

They do get influenced. That's why movies like queen are hailed. Many girls draw inspiration from them and want to do better and have dreams other than just getting married. Movies like kapoors and sons normalizes acceptance of gay people. While English vinglish/ baghban made people be more caring and mindful of their parents. Tzp bought the struggles of dyslexic kids to the fore. Chichore and 3I had important lessons. SMS, bala bought up discussion around relevant topics.
Recently a father of two inspired by hdds gave away his wife.
The march shown in rdb inspired candle march in capital.
Just like not all guys get inspired by KS, not all movies affect everyone. But if you are going through something similar, and a movie on the same subject comes along, the self acceptance/motivation to do better become stronger.
I never denied that movies cannot be used to spread awareness or promote messages.. However, movies cannot be used as an excuse to crimes.. as I said, if a guy watches Humpty and abducts the girl he likes, is the movie to be blamed? No.. because he got influenced by the abduction but not what was shown later because that's what suited him
Sure social message movies are hailed.. movies like Queen and EV are welcomed because that's what women these days already relate to.. that's what they want for the most part.. it's not like Queen or EV showed women that they can be free and there is more to life.. women these days already know that.. it's because this is what they want that they find these movies so inspiring
I am pretty sure candle marches were held before RDB... Weren't they alsoheld during Jessica Lal case?
PS. A woman is not a gift to be given away.. you mean he paid heed to what she wanted and gave her divorce.. I am sure he did not do it because of HDDCS.. he did it because that's the kind of person he is.. movies for the most part are a reflection of society.. movies can never ever be used as an excuse of someone committing a crime

On the first line, I wish but: kanya-daan.
Even in my religion, some clerics actually preach, that I need permission from a male member before going out🙄
I agree with you on those deleted parts. Movies aren't solely responsible for people doing what they do, good or bad. But art doesn't always imitate life, sometimes the reverse is also true, and more often than not, in a negative way.
I see many disagree.. most of them female writers.. can share more.

What was glorified in VDW?!
It was basically like a Sex comedy but with all female cast. So it’s progressive ??? But I never anyone call Kya Kool Hai Hum progressive 🤣
Unfortunately they do, in India. Can’t say the same for other countries.
All forms of media(entertainment and otherwise) collectively influence Society, mostly in a subtle way, but for some individuals these effects may not be so subtle🤔. There have been umpteen scientific studies how movies affect Society. A more harmless indication of the effects of Media on society is cosplay.
If media would not have affect on Society, celebrities would not be endorsing brands 😆.
Having said that what the man in the story has done is ridiculous, it is like pleading temporary insanity for a cold blooded planned murder unless he has a history of being influenced by things like movies. In that case the judge should have sent him to some mental facility for treatment and not set him free😈. Not a good reflection on the Australian Judiciary 🤔
