Housefull 4 Has Very Good Start

Housefull 4 took a good opening of 35-40% and if you take into consideration its pre Diwali than the opening can be called very good and maybe even excellent. The best openings Pre Diwali in recent times are Krrish 3, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay and Housefull 4 is on course to beat the day one total of all these films. Krrish 3 did around 19 crore nett on day one but was action film which get a bigger first day audience.
The film had a solid advance and the mass crowd has come on day one with places like UP, Rajasthan and Bihar recording good numbers although there could be a drop in these parts over the next two days before they come into their own on Monday. The opening is the biggest for the franchise as well as for pre Diwali.
Housefull 4 does have two films released against it in the form of Made In China and Saand Ki Aankh and these are not really competition in terms of collections but they do hit screen space as will be allotted a screen each in the bigger multiplexes. Made In China may have been released on Diwali as its a Gujarat based film and Gujarat scores big on Diwali but Saand Ki Aankh is a film which can do better outside Diwali as not many will be interested in this type of content over the Diwali period. Both the films have opened to very dull collections, partly due to pre Diwali but more so due to the trailers not offering much for the audience.
Due to the release of other films the release of Housefull 4 is probably 600-700 screens less than it could have been but it is set for a strong weekend although it may not grow much as Diwali comes closer and could even drop on Sunday. The film was released on around 3900 screens
