LMAO this made me giggle 😆
Criticism directed at RK is not at all misplaced. He should be fried even more. Why boast on first family of BWood lineage and suck at what they are known for? Kareena too. Girl forgot how to act.
RK was good in Rajneeti, WUS and Rocket Singh. Rest are fonstipated performances from the same groove. Useless.
Apart from adhm... I don't think any of his character was manchild.

Whether criticism is justified or not depends on how and why the criticism is given. Ranbir is a talented actor. He has impeccable comic timing, natural charm, and ability to evoke emotions. But he tends to pigeon hole himself into the lost man-child type of roles. Sure there are nuances in his film that make the characters different. In terms of acting range though, they don't really challenge him. I think he needs to take risks and challenge himself - maybe a crime thriller, maybe a negative role, even a love story without the self-discovery angle.
Although, there are those who criticize Ranbir only to rile his fans or just feel the need to bash someone or the other. That really isn't criticism, it's trolling. IMO if the criticism isn't constructive, it's trolling.

Rockstar was a lot. I not once felt connected to his character's plight, longing or sense of urgency. I know we were supposed to see a man in the throes and devastations that love can bring, but the sense of entitlement, the lack of growth Jordan had, it never once felt like we were watching his journey. There was no journey. He was just a boy in love that became a destructive man in love.
I will argue though that Sid in Wake Up Sid, did, in fact, grow up and saw a sense of change in perspective which was awesome. That's the only one on the list I can argue for though 😆

So by your own definition you’ve trolling Ranveer all these years hain?
Ranbir Kaka has stopped trying post Barfi. I could see some degree of variety on roles earlier but since ADHM there is no variation in his roles or acting 🤔. I have watched Sanju and he was playing the same man child while playing younger Sanju(I will admit that he got Sanjay Dutt's mannerisms right for playing older Sanju).
Ranbir has to act in more film. I waiting for bramhastra and shameshara to see if he has something more to offer.
People praise him for Sanju but what to do, I never liked Sanjay dutt so Sanju ka sawal bhi nahi uthata. And Sanjay dutt himself was a man child in most of his career.
I really have very high expectations from Ranbir, but I want him to so different roles. Whatever his fans says about his subtleties and ability to emote naturally, if the role is repetitive it gets boring. So yeah, waiting for Bramhastra and Shameshara

He needs more variety but that doesn't mean he has stopped trying, his performances in movies like Tamasha and Sanju were definitely good.
