So, if BCCI didn't pay that amount it in no way means that all those money would have been put into charity work, it would have only made the BCCI's purse heavier. You can't expect to make money out of someone and yet not share your profits with them. Moreover, BCCI is a private body not a govt. organisation, so all the more reason they'd not have shared their wealth to uplift other sports.

Do you complain when the Hollywood producers pay some of their actors and actresses $30 mn for a single film. It's also grossly unjustified in that sense. But the producer knows he'll make several times more just cos s/he is starring in that film. He might refuse to pay that amount but then the actor will work for someone else who'll pay a higher amount. And even if all the producers came together and decided to pay not more than a certain amount, it'll only mean that they'd make even more profit, for you can rest assured that no way are these producers going to ask the theatre owners to reduce the ticket prices cos they suddenly felt that the stars and they themselves are making too much money.

Before anything, we are responsible for everything and it's us who have decided to pay any amount to just watch that piece of entertainment.

Sorry, but I wasn't aware of that. I thought BCCI was a government organization. I guess I really shouldn't be complaining now.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy cricket and I really appreciate the players. But I strongly believe that all this money could have gone to charity instead. There are so many poor and needy people in India and we have so many other problems we could have used up this money for improvement of our country.

Yes, I agree these players do deserve to be rewarded for their efforts. But they all have other sources of income as well (i.e. advertisements) and they should be given money, but not in such large amounts, because a few years down the road I cannot imagine how much more they will start demanding.

I really think we should consider the condition of our country before giving off money seriously there are so many people who aren't even employed, live on streets and cannot even afford money to get food. We have way too many problems on hand and we cannot afford to give off large sums of money. What are your thoughts on this subject?

I agree😊
