Part 10

Kunal's POV:

No nightmares. She was pressed against me when I woke up. I was relieved. I wished I could let her sleep a little longer. She was definitely having a happy dream. She was smiling. The alarm went off and she woke up.

“Morning…” I said.

“Good morning.” She replied. “Kunal, I forgot to ask you.Are you going back to work today?” she asked. She touched my forehead.

“Feels normal.” She said.

“I’m definitely going back today.” I said. I sounded excited so she gave me a look. Soon she would know why I was so happy.

“Oh, alright then…” she said. We had breakfast and got ready. She had no idea what to expect. We got into the car. She thought I’d drop her off and go on to my hospital. She left the car after saying bye and I followed her from behind. She stopped and turned around.

“Kunal?”

“Yes, Mauli?”

“Jaana, don’t play around. You’ll be late.” She said. She called me jaana. I took her hand and walked beside her. “I have to give you the surprise, remember?”

She nodded. She was watching me. We entered the hospital and I checked in the same way she did. Mauli had to leave immediately for an emergency.

“Welcome, Dr. Kunal.”The receptionist said. Mauli's mouth opened.

“Kunal? What’s going on?” She asked. I winked at her.

“Dr. Mauli? Do you know Dr. Kunal?” the receptionist asked.She was new.

She gave me a look. She didn’t answer the question

“Dr. Kunal;, room 206. That’s your cabin.” She said. I thanked her. Mauli’s face slowly broke into a smile.

“Kunal, you’re working here? Here? Permanently?” she asked.She was happy. Mission accomplished. I took her to my cabin.

“Surprise.” I said. I kissed her on the cheek. “Now you can keep an eye on me all day.” I said. She gave a huge smile and hugged me tightly.

I knew she would be pleased but she was beyond happy. I did this to give her some peace of mind, and also to bring us closer.

“But how?” she asked.

“I’ve been discussing this move for a while and finally I was informed that it’s time. It’s good luck. Are you happy?” I asked. She kissed me on the cheek. “Very.” She said. After that she had to go and I had to get on with the day as well and start seeing patients. I was extremely happy all day. We didn’t see each other again for a few hours because Mauli was in surgery.

When I knew she was free, I went into her room. I knocked.“Come in.” she said. When I entered she smiled but she was blushing. It was like the earliest days of our marriage.

“Hi. Someone’s happy.” I said.

“How are you?” she asked.

“If you’re happy, I’m happy.” I said.

“Thank you, Kunal. This really made my day. This was truly a surprise. I had no idea.” She said.

“Hmm, well. I need a reward in return.” I replied.

“Just say it and it’s yours.” She said.

“Tell everyone that Dr. Kunal Malhotra is your husband. Iwant everyone to know that you’re taken, especially those interns…those dudes that just started here.” I said. She bit her lip.

“Mmm, which interns? Why does everyone need to know that we are married. Let’s carry on the mystery.” She said. She was having fun with this but I was serious. There really were a bunch of interns who looked a lot older than I did when I was an intern myself. They kept checking out every female that passed by them.

“No. I’m not kidding. You’re Mauli Malhotra and you’re my wife. I need that.” I said.

“ I don’t know which interns you’re talking about. As for telling people, I need some time, I will find the right time for it.” She said.

“Ok, leave it then. Just tell me, does this give you peace of mind? I’ll be around you every day, permanently. “ I said. She hugged me.

“I didn’t want you to feel like you needed to do something like quitting your job at one hospital and coming here…” she said.

“I did if for both of us. I want to be near you. If makes me happy.” I said.

The entire day was an extremely happy one. We got home and I shared the news with everyone. I told the kids that their parents are working together now. Maa was very thrilled with this move.

“This shows honesty, Kunal. I’m happy for both of you.”

“Thanks, Maa.”

She was beyond happy. She was that old, animated Mauli,extra loud, extra cute and adorable. At night while I scrolled through my phone, she scooted close to me a d kept her head on my shoulder.

“Do you still need me to scratch you back?” she asked. I smiled.

I put my arms around her. “No, I don’t.” I said. She was looking into my eyes, her lips were slightly parted. She awaited a kiss which I gave her. She covered my face with kisses after that. She came and sat in my lap. It was obvious that I had really put her mind at ease. She traced her finger from the side of my face down to my neck.

“You can have anything you want tonight. “ She said. How could she be sexy and cute at once? She slipped her hand under my shirt. We kissed. I lay down and she was on top of me. “Mauli, I love you…” I said.

My phone buzzed. She grabbed it and looked at it. “Cricket alerts?” She asked. “Wait, let me just check the score”, I said. She shook herhead. “No…” She tossed the phone away. “Ouch. If it breaks, you owe me a newphone.” I said. She held my face. “Right now, I owe you something else, Dr.Kunal.”

I felt myself drowning in desire. I wanted to touch her softly but at the same time I wanted to crush her against my body. My lips traced every curve of her body. She was beautiful. I didn’t know why I’d left her and how I’d survived it. How could I have forgotten how it felt to be so close to her? These memories did haunt me the past few years. The softness of her skin, the warmth of her touch, her complete submission to me, I was lost in her.

She was clinging to me all night. As beautiful as it was, I was lost in a sea of negative thoughts about myself. Mauli was so innocent. Asa man, I’d had left her to go into another woman’s arms. For years once that chapter was closed, I was haunted by the memories of the love I had with Mauli.I remembered and missed the friendship, the trust, the innocence and the intimacy. Once again, I desired her and she gave herself to me. But what must it have been like for her knowing the man she gave herself to was sleeping with another woman? This thought disturbed me all night. She trusted me again andlet me touch her. Maybe I didn’t even deserve her.

sorry for the late review...another amazingly beautiful chapter with balance of emotions...love n kids together...maunal has sort out their issues n being back as normal....their main strength is togetherness..both are incomplete w/o each other n both completes each other...its nice to see mishti-kunal bonding,mishti getting to know her father likes n dislikes n pari is becoming mumma's girl...love the way mauli is so attached to pari n showering her with all the motherly love the sweet girl deserves...what i further loved was kunal being honest to himself n also to mauli and wants to share his fears n his feelings to her...something that missed when they were together before EMA becos mauli doesn't share anything to kunal n its him who find out abt it be it nandini or anything that is bothering her...while now both are equally sharing their fears n feelings...a new relationship with strength...love n trust is being build up...2nd chance in relationship is building up beautifully

gosh yanks i am blushing☺️ ....this was a hot chapter,it was a great move by kunal to work in the same hospital with mauli and this move of his will bring them closer and help to rebuild their relationship but don't understand why mauli doesn't want to knkw that she is married to kunal,it seems like some plans going in her mind😈🤣...the room scenes of maunal was epic their romance is always another level and it just mesmerise us with their passion for each other...kunal guilt in b/w is masterstroke he realise how wrong he is cheating n leaving mauli for nandini....the realisation how mauli felt when she got to know that kunan were having an affait behind her back...the realisation is killing him when now he again became mauli's kunal whenever he becomes mauli's kunal he becomes a human n not a devil when he was nandini's kunal
