Actor Rahul Roy has reacted to a viral social media video that shows him dancing with a content creator, a clip that has triggered mixed responses online. The video, which surfaced earlier this week, features Roy alongside Instagram creator Dr Vanita Ghadage Desai, dancing to the song Tere Dar Pe Sanam.

The track is from the 1993 film Phir Teri Kahaani Yaad Aayi, where Roy starred opposite Pooja Bhatt. As the video gained traction, social media users began questioning the context behind the collaboration, with several comments expressing confusion over Roy’s participation.

Many reactions ranged from surprise to criticism. Some users wrote, “Aisa kya majboori hai yaar,” while others commented, “Seems as if he was forced to make reels.. no emotions at all.. He is Bollywood actor yaar.” The clip reportedly crossed millions of views within a short span, drawing attention beyond Roy’s usual audience.

According to HT City, Roy initially found it difficult to believe the extent of the video’s reach but acknowledged that he was not keen on doing it in the first place. Speaking about the video, he said, “Viral toh nahi hua… but compulsion ho gaya tha. Now I am not doing to do that again. Thank you to all.” His statement suggests that the video may not have been a planned social media move from his side.

Roy, who made his debut with Aashiqui in 1990, rose to fame quickly after the film’s success. Despite appearing in several projects that followed, he was unable to recreate the same level of commercial impact. Over the years, he has taken on selective roles while maintaining a relatively low public profile.

He later appeared in films like Junoon and Gumrah, and also won the reality show Bigg Boss in 2006. More recently, he was seen in Agra, directed by Kanu Behl, which had a festival run before releasing in India in 2025.

The latest viral moment has once again brought Roy into the spotlight, though for reasons different from his earlier film work.
