I didn’t watch the show, but seeing these news its getting interesting
Super excited 😍
There is a reason why early reports said Shrenu and Zain are opposite. Bcos that is where the future heads. Bhabhi Devar is temporary story and many were fooled. It is actually nice story if we think. How can they suddenly change the story? It was in their minds already. Kabir Kavya was temporary. Getting shock as Devar as it is all a facade and now aiming to destroy her.

Zain is a good actor. I think this leap will showcase Zain's talent. He is actually very good in this kind of revenge, hate, emotional scenes more than pure romantic scenes.
In NK Aditi used to enhance the slight lack on Zain's part when it came to romantic scenes. I am sure Shrenu is very good at romantic scenes. So this pairing should work amazingly.
Shrenu is very good actor as well.

It was supposed to proceed to that anyway, just that it is rushed now.

Zain has specifically said in recent interviews the primarily revenge story was not working for trps so the makers decided to go for a more typical hate/ revenge to love story between the two leads (who also happen to be the most popular well known actors on the show )and lo and behold the trps are increasing . So this was NOT preplanned
It’s so funny how many people say viewers esp the younger generation want to see strong content driven stories about various issues but continue to look at soap operas . Soap operas are primarily about personal relationships esp romantic and/ or physical relationsand emotions of lust love jealousy, cheating etc . So please instead of viewers saying we want content driven shows dealing with various issues , many people should just admit they really just want romance . Whether it is to see their fav actor (s) or even two young attractive actors they don’t know romance onscreen and see all the family drama related to that .
Seriously do any of these characters in all these shows ever work go to school etc or are they always at home of course all living together gathered in the same room in some dramatic confrontation with flashes of light focussing on the otp expression on each characters face and the crazy background music . Or the angst longing love cheesy romantic background music and even cheesier lines with the romantic scenes and sometimes endless festivals rituals etc The constant separations misunderstandings reunions with the otp villians plotting against them . Hate / revenge/ friendships/ misunderstandings / separations/ reunions / love oh and of the soulmate kind because that is super romantic lol
Very few indian shows are about anything else . Any social issues other family relations are all relegated to the backgd or just their to provide support /drama to move the relationship story of the couple forward. So some should stop saying certain shows are different iconic unique groundbreaking unlike other shows. Without the main romantic storyline would many look at them - probably not if ratings are anything to go by . Eg if this was a pure revenge story would it work with itv viewers in India - no as seen even with two forced romantic subplots thrown in to cover all bases. Likewise the show based on Dangal about a female boxer is going off air . The story of the queen of jhansi about oppression under british rule also going off air . Udaan dealing with slave labour and NK dealing with illegtimacy before the leap with the child actors also did not have good ratings . Ratings only increased when young attractive leads were introduced and the relationship journey of the couples were shown. Even a show on the first female crime boss in Mumbai obtained low ratings and the list goes on .
My questions are:
Why are Indian tv viewers so obsessed with shows portraying romance ?
Why are most shows on itv soap operas which primarily deal with personal relationships esp romantic relationship between one main couple
In the west many people who look at soaps are older stay at home and women. Indeed I believe these daily soaps are shown in the early afternoon when most people are at work or school and for younger modern educated people if some look at it it is often an embarrassing guilty pleasure
Also in the west there are so many genres on tv comedies , dramas, mysteries, documentaries etc. Why do most shows on itv seem to be soaps and indeed whole channels are dedicated to them ?

You raised a really good point! I think the main reason why so many shows on ITV are focussed mostly on the romance aspect is because the main audience is young, female adults in their early teens to mid-twenties who are less interested in real-world issues and more interested in fantasy. If you think about it, we are now moving away from Saas Bahu type shows. Back in the day, we had saas bahu shows because the main audience for them was older stay-at-home females. So over the romance, they preferred family drama. But now we have a lot of younger people watching TV shows as well. So the types of shows that we have are based entirely on the type of audience. its kinda sad that we aren't able to have any shows in ITV that portray more realistic problems or shows that think outside the box, beyond romance, but I guess this is how it will be for the next several years until the audience mentality changes :/
Its the R word baby. Rules ITV.

A really insightful comment. Yes, even my mum and my preferences differ. We don't watch Hindi dramas any more at home (in fact I watch EBSS and KHKT chup chup ke on HS), but as regards Bengali dramas, she still prefers those really Ekta-ish joint family, OTT crying dramas, while I like a more youthful show, for eg. the one which I watch on and off centers around a couple, where the girl is a tomboy who wants to become an IPS officer and the guy is kinda stuck up lol.
But yes, your summing up was quite on point.
