Paradise one of all time favorite romance best sellers. Matt Farell was out to make Meredith’s dad pay for his cruel actions keeping Meredith in the dark about the truth and out of his life. That’s where the similarity ends with RB.

When he met Meredith after years her reaction to him gave him reason to pursue her as get to the truth about their past.

Here Bajaj is using an unsuspecting woman as a pawn in his war against Basus who happens to be his business rival’s fiancé with no consideration to the girls’s feelings.

Even if Anu was the direct cause of his beef with wanting to take over BP, war on the business front would be an honorable way to deal with it than destroy an unsuspecting girl’s life for his selfish ends. Will he see it as fair game if the girl in question was his daughter Sneha under similar circumstances and not Pre?

Which again, is a naive assumption since most corporations are cost effective, profiteering, and treat their lower level staff abysmally. The fact that actually worked in Bajaj's favor. He was able to convince the labor union because he promised them greater pay. And the pay they were denied for the past few months. Excruciating if you think about labor in general. Going with Bajaj is actually a win for them, too.

And any man who sells his company under a minute is a fool. And fools take themselves down. Darwin's law and all.

@red: Another assumption. It's an observation you're making. Not a universal fact or a fact pertaining to Bajaj. The hypothesis is yet to be proved.

@the topic.

I love this topic. Been waiting to read a proper analysis post on Bajaj. Bajaj is too confident in who he is. He's reached that peak point of success where it's getting harder and harder for him to imagine an enemy taking him down. Which is why it becomes inevitable, that he will go down. He just won't see it coming.

He's got a Machiavellian sort of theory. And it works wonders in the business world. I'm not one for moral policing in fiction anyway. It spoils the fun and complexities. I love my characters grey and charcoal. But obviously, they need to have a certain level of complexity I doubt Ekta can deliver.

I'm hoping Bajaj sets off Anurag's growth. Watching two opponents with philosophies on either side of the spectrum will be a blast. Only if it's pulled off well and doesn't ring as hollow as the Anurag vs Bajaj match in S1 did. KSG and Parth are both equally gifted and I kind of look forward to their scenes. As scarce as they're for now.

👍 it’s often when overconfident that the one at the top has a misstep or tripped up when least expected. Once at the top the position is not as secure as it may seem. There is always the insecurity that starts to creep under the radar looking behind to see if someone is out to usurp their standing.

It’s one thing to pose a challenge in the business world where both sides challenge each other to be on top of their games. At times the very choice one makes whether underhanded or honorable becomes a useful tool given to the opposition to use against them at a later date.

Anu was naive early on with Navvu telling him how he was going to expose his criminal past and duplicity to the family before he realized he needed to keep things close to the vest and spring a surprise and he successfully exposed him.

Anu and Nivi with AnuPam can plan a strategic move and catch RB off guard. Pre exposed Komo. Every businessman has a weakness and once Basus get to know what it is they can get him by surprise.

RB may have fended off businesses that attempted to fight back and prevailed. But with Basus he may face someone with different reasons for not giving up and holding him accountable.

RB bringing Pre into his inner circle as roommate/wife could turn to be a costly mistake esp. if Pre doesn’t forget he was the dark shadow, his intentions towards Moloy’s family and Anu were not honorable and he had used her as a pawn to take down her loved ones. It could be far more costly to RB if Pre prevails on her mission esp if his heart is involved.

I don't really get the Bajaj Prerna angle rn. If they rush with the whole bajaj prerna marriage plot, they're literal fools tbh. Why would Bajaj need to marry Prerna out of the blue? He didn't marry the wives/gfs of the men he brought down before. And given his own past is implied to be tragic and distasteful when it comes to marriage, his decision to marry again has to be well sketched and drawn before it makes to the screen. Give him time to progress.

Honestly I think the cvs missed their golden chance of separating anurag prerna by making Mohini's move less consequential. Not to be a sadist, but Mohini sending Veena to jail and then something horrible befalling Veena would've led to the ultimate breakup btw Anupre. They could've then put Bajaj and Prerna in one camp without pulling cliches out of their hat. At this point Prerna's whole arc needs to be about her own self development rather than using Bajaj and Anurag as crutches.

Regarding the business world, it's cut throat and experience takes you far. But once you reach a peak there's a stagnancy there. Also your ideas and approaches are solidified and you play your cards the way you've always played them. Someone new can actually upset your order because he's not working with a set rulebook. Bajaj has become far too secure in his little bubble. It will burst at some point. For now he'll win. But he'll eventually fall too.

In the world of business the big fish eat the smalller ones.. it’s a game of survival of the fittest.

From what was shown of RB’s business he’s still the one making the deals. So he could still be small potatoes in the bigger pictures of a business world run by mega business conglomerates that are publicly traded. His business could get swallowed by a bigger shark than him, who may teach him a thing or two about being successful and an ethical business.

Businessmen who feel the need to poach other business crave power. But beneath the surface of this need for power is insecurity, low self-esteem and a need to be loved and accepted by others.

Mr. Bajaj is the writers baby. They are repeating this same go for the kill concept

The first go for the kill was Naveen Babu. His lust preceded everything. Object of his desire was Pre.

Next comes Komolika. Komo wanted Anurag Basu as his toy boy.

Mr. Bajaj has a score to settle with d Basus. His past is responsible for his current actions. Ethics or emotions do not have any place in his life. The takeover are hostile, he forces businesses to crumble.

There is a common trait in all 3 characters. Want something, go for it.

Prena and Anurag had the same killer instinct when they joined hands against the forces.

This time it will be difficult here as Anu does not have the business expertise or experience which is grandfather or father has. Moreover he isn't a takeover specialist, his job profile is managing Basu Publications. Anurag as such is kind and compassionate. Mohini is more like Bajaj.

Looks like RB wants to break Basus emotionally especially the scion of Basu Publications. Therefore he can target what is most dear to Anurag.

Again everything depends on how well this seasons Rishabh Bajaj is accepted.

I didn't relate the revenge aspect at all. In fact, Matt wasn't desperate for revenge either, he was angry and he retaliated most of the times. I am not equating the revenge aspect here. I drew a parallel between Bajaj, the business shark with Matt, the corporate Mogul. A private man with shrewd business sense and who seemingly had no feelings. If you remember, when Stuart and Matt had their discussion, that was Stuart's summation of him, he had feelings, but it seemed as if he didn't to most people. XD That is what I was relating to, not this Prerna Bajaj angle etc.

what would be the point in recycling same characters doing the same things again on this show. Twenty years later viewers attitude and view of the world is different so why same old RB must marry Pre track. It’s as if CVs are admitting to lack of imagination and just falling back and retreading old track.

This track could proceed without the marriage angle. Takeovers in business is based on a lot of economic factors. Same need not be the case in personal relationships.

Imagine society if every ruthless person decides to disrespect a couple’s personal boundaries and decides to break up relationship/marriages threatening the girl or guy with terrible consequences to their partners for those who are already committed to each other.

Glorifying such behavior desensitizes people to the severity and adverse consequences not to just the engaged couple but to their families.

If the same was done to their near and dear ones will they stand by quietly.

The Chaubeys are similar to RB, take what you want by any means the other people impacted by it be damned. Yet when the shoe is on the other foot Chaubeys were hopping mad and blood thirsty to destroy Basus.

As long as Chaubeys get away with it it will be accepted as normal. It is imperative that Anu with support from Nivi and AnuPam not give up easily and find a way to beat RB at his own game.

Mohini has the same twisted thinking as RB. She could be valuable in strategy to take him down a few pegs. Mohini would think twice though if it means Pre leaves RB and returns to Anu.

I swear. I have read that book so many times, and it is equally moving each time. I find both Matt and Meredith's characters super awesome. Glad, I found someone who loves the book too,.
