And Grey characters don’t always need have repercussions ....wolf of Wall Street was all about an awful guy who does awful things and kinda sorta becomes ok at the end and writes a book on himself lol...people took away what they wanted to from the film...

Glorification or not depends on the person interpreting it aswell.

In Wolf of Wall Street, the guy(original guy) spent 22 months in jail (out of the 4 year jail term), his wife left him and he was fined $110 million dollars (which he still has not paid). Yes, he became an author and motivational speaker but his life is no where close to what he had before.

Also, just because someone is called psycho, sanki does not mean he is dealt as one. The thing is when a character is as twisted as that, you are not meant to root for him. People were rooting him and his love story so there lies the problem. Even in Raanjhana, we see Dhanush changing, having an arc but even he didn't get his "happy ending".

I am glad you think the movie didn't normalize his actions, but I don't think a lot of people thought like that, maybe the director should have made it clearer, but I think the director actually liked this character and wanted him to succeed, so that's problematic.

Isn’t that why Deepika and gang felt repressed when they were forced to cover a characters midriff in ghoomar based on a group of people thinking it was offensive to them?

So being a twisted psychopath who treats people like shit is the same thing as covering someone's midriff?

Cool that’s your opinion in that case and your interpretation... by all means trash the film...

Love doesn’t absolve people of doing the wrong thing or facing the consequences ...KS did face his consequences ...it’s debatable if he suffered enough...but that didn’t make me think he was OK by any means...maybe preethi was ok to have him in her life but I didn’t want any part of him ....

I didn’t consider preethi and him getting back together as his reward....or endorsement that he was right at any time or that he was ok...he still remained an asshole...With a wife who made a poor choice

My argument was not with people liking or disliking a film...just the questioning of the existence of the film and of ppl liking the film

You are missing the point here...I said filmmakers felt repressed because they weren’t allowed to show what they wanted to...simple ...there is a logic to that...

Well we as a society has evolved, filmmakers cannot be showing stuff such as blatant racisim, sexism just in the name of artisitc liberty.

These themes may have worked in the past but really a regressive mindset should not be hogging limelight in 2019 and if it is, then we may as well be doomed.
