guy says Bollywood provoked him

Guy says short skirts provoked him...

Is it responsible or repressive to tell the girl to wear longer skirts? And to tell filmmakers to make “clearer” movies that Cleary show black and white and no grey?

Neither of them are doing anything outside the law...but they have to change their behaviour to suit a psychotic outlaw and become more responsible...?

No big deal in doing either of those things...just that feminism was working against a society like that

The girl may have avoided an attack if she wore a burkha...(if he indeed was provoked by it).....the film may have not influenced someone negatively if it was abt sadguru....but then u should also be ok with a society that isn’t free spirited and operates with various restrictions to avoid negatively provoking of influencing people. Dot.

It's not about being free-spirited but taking some responsibilty.

The whole short skirt provoking gives rise to victim shaming so I won't even go there.

But, do we really want our movies (Bollywood) to be known as those that normalize stalking, non-consent and other patriarchal themes, such as thinking of a woman as a property - 'yeh meri bandi hai, maine mark kiya hai' and all the regressive stuff.

Flawed characters are okay, but to normalize their actions and show them heroic is NOT.

And, I don't understand the harping about women in burka "avoid" being raped. It's not women that need to avoid, it's the rapists that need to stop.

Also, grey characters have repercussions, For example, Varun D in Badlapur and he ends up being all alone and in the end noone is really rooting for him anymore. So, yeah grey characters are welcome but show them exactly, don't try to make a hero out of them.

Agreed that the films shouldn’t normalise behaviour and make it seem ok...which I don’t think KS did ...from the first shot to the last, every scene shows him to do objectionable and questionable things with his moral compass never being fully right...he’s called as sanki, psycho, Addict etc...that’s not normal in any society and those aren’t words to describe a normal guy...the film shows despicable things that he does and lets u hate him for that very reason...he’s not normal...just because he’s the title character and the lead does not make him the “hero” ...

And Grey characters don’t always need have repercussions ....wolf of Wall Street was all about an awful guy who does awful things and kinda sorta becomes ok at the end and writes a book on himself lol...people took away what they wanted to from the film...

Glorification or not depends on the person interpreting it aswell.

Agree

Saw the movie , have stalked three girls , touched five girls inappropriately , I am not at fault though it's because of the damn movie. Shame on Bollywood.

My point on bringing the woman clothing example was to demonstrate if it was fair to ask people to change the way they live and they work...based on the chance that a twisted sick idiot can misinterpret and cause harm?

Isn’t that why Deepika and gang felt repressed when they were forced to cover a characters midriff in ghoomar based on a group of people thinking it was offensive to them?
