Can we talk about the positives?

Am I the only one who thinks the show is good (esp when you take the standard of ITV into account) and is a decent watch at least so far? Yes, there are many aspects which need to be improved, many characters which need a better sketch but the show is still entertaining and a lot better than most other shows on TV right now.

- Good plot has no correlation with TRP (this has been apparent for years if you take a look at the TRP toppers). So there is absolutely no connection between the average TRPs and lack of story in the show.

- I don't find it regressive either. Yes a lot of characters are regressive but so far, the writers have done a reasonably good job in emphasizing that their thought process is wrong. If all the characters are equally progressive, there is no scope for drama. If Meenu, Kunal, badi maa etc. are regressive, it is balanced by Abhir, bade papa and nanu who advocate Mishti's right to make her own choice.

- The lead characters have been written reasonably well so far. There is no forced romance, random trip fall catch scenes and stupid nok jhok between them. There is an emphasis on their emotional bonding and how well they understand eachother. Which is quite unlike what is shown in most other shows.

The show is definitely flawed. The misguided courtship track, mollycoddling of Kunal and no character highlighting his faults, Meenu and Parul's melodrama, Mishti and Kuhu's random back and forth etc. etc. Despite all that, I think the show is worth a watch. The lead characters have enough charisma and the story is not unpalatable either. Am I the only one who is liking it despite all the flaws? Am certain I will stop watching the day it gets unbearable but so far so good is what I think.

I totally agree with you.After a long time i am watching a show on TV. So far i am very happy with the show.

Some characters are really regressive and very annoying. But which show doesnt have this kind of characters.The concept of the show is progressive and so far makers have maintained it properly.

I really want to know the past of Bigben and Parul maasi.

And the characters really relate with real life so I don't think there is problem in watching them in fiction 😆

comparing with current shows this is only best show in ITV..i am really enjoying the show..this forum has become very regressive nowadays we should appreciate the good things and criticize flaws but i have seen only critics here..bcoz of this so many left this forum and moved to twitter

The show has a lot of flaws for sure but it is definitely a decent watch so far. Abhir-Mishti aren't your conventional Indian TV pair. Their dynamics are different which makes it fun. I guess I will watch till their characters are ruined 😆

Constructive criticism is always welcome. The show is far from perfect and has quite a few flaws so I have no issues with people criticizing it. What I don't agree with is that the show is regressive/TRPs are average because the plot is weak. TRPs have no connection with story or plot and the show is definitely doing a decent job in making the leads question the regressive mindset of other characters. The show isn't Oscar worthy but is definitely a good watch so far IMO.

Also, I have to add that the show has amazing dialogues and bgm. Probably the biggest assets of the show :)

Agreed. The background music is the best! And the jokes which are so much in tune with popular culture!

You're not the only one. I think the story is decent. In fact, the balance of the characters along with apt dialogues makes it a good watch. I have been enjoying the show so far. I feel they portrayed the courtship angle in the best way possible since no ITV show has ever given FL this much of independence to make a strong decision on her own. The pace is fairly good and I don't think they have dragged it. I'm excited to see how the love story unfolds. It's all about the imperfections that make a show perfect. As long as there are sane characters who don't come out as OTP mahaan/sanskari, I'm cool with watching it. The balance between characters who are regressive and progressive churns out the plotlines in the show.

At the end of the day this show is giving a proper message through its character .They have introduced few regressive characters in the show through which they are trying condensing the society’s double standards .This show has never promoted regressive stuffs .
