I was just wondering, how does trp relate to the overall fan base of a show? Since so many of us are out of India and watch it through different mediums. So our interests and likeness does not matter at all then?
I mean look at so many other TV shows, especially international - most of those shows are watched online, not on TV, and yet those shows work... They don't worry about TRPs or maybe they have other ways to measure TRPs?Not even sure if I'm making sense!

But in India, especially with Star plus, it doesn't happen. Star plus doesn't care about online popularity and international popularity. Even though, our show is doing well in UK but still if TRP doesn't increase, star won't think once even to shut the show. It happened with Naamkaran, it was very famous online and was this much famous that still trends today but star had to shut it down due to low TRPs. And that's the reason KCL got lot of bashing from Naamkaran fans in the start as KCL is the one which replaced Naamkaran. And 9 pm is the most dangerous one. 😆
That's weird! Yes, channels cancel shows but I'm sure they also consider international popularity... Imagine GoT being cancelled because people were not watching it on TV! 😆🤣
