Why People didn't like KANK?

I liked KANK. Sure it has its flaws and concept was ahead of its time. There was writing fault here and there.

But it was better and sensible than KJo's other movies.

There are certain dialogues I really love in KANK.

It was not the concept it was very pretentious like most of KJO movies. Very surface level emotions. 🤢

the simple thing about KANK, where it went wrong is, you don't need to justify infidelity.
You don't fcuking justify it.
Yes everyone has reasons, and not every relationship has to last forever, sometimes even unknowingly people get into stuffs.
But when it is on your face justification, it is just superficial.

The message was "don't live in loveless marriage" obviously cheating is not a good thing but when you are not compatible with current partner and exact same time you find someone who understands you. This is where cheating started. Be careful who you get married to.

And yes it was ahead of its time. People are more open to ideas which was once considered as taboo. There are many web shows etc where they showed partners cheating. The point here is not cheating but from where cheating comes from. You should be emotionally compatible/satisfied in marriage which Dev and Maya were never was.

The movie is not saying cheat on your partner but marry only for love. That's how loveless marriage breaks.

Sure movie has its flaws. But sensible than Kjo's other trash movies.

I hated Sharukh and rani's characters.

They way Shahrukh would simply pickup fight's with preity because of his ego. Abhishek and preity tried to save their marriage.

Because it was not entertaining..

With such big budget and huge cast people expect entertainment even if it's discussing divorce and extramarital drama.

It was way too dramatic, Srk character was way too bitter for people liking , it was too long, people couldn't identify with Rani motivation as they were ambiguous.

Also music was dismal and kjo is a poor Director who can't handle the issue maturity which showed in below average script.

Cheating is NEVER going to be accepted anywhere in the world. Loveless marriage ? Sure, discuss with your partner and let him/her know where you are so that both of you are on the same page.

EMA is not a western thing. Every 1 out of 3 households have EMA thing in India. Sorry to burst the sanskaari bubble of my fellow countrymen. 😆 But to try to justify it instead of just shaming them and not handling it with a BIT of maturity is what made the movie FLOP. Everyone gets it what it is about, no one got why it was handled the way it was. 🤢
