Wow, I just finished watching the film, Manmarziyaan, and I loved it!! Is it just me or has this film not gotten as many praises as some of the others in 2018? I watched Andhadhun which is arguably topping the 2018 list of best movie of the year, but I actually enjoyed Manmarziyaan so much more. I can not be the only one?

I always liked Anurag's direction (for the most part), and he reminded me why I do in this film again. And, Taapsee? I loved her as Rumi! People keep talking about Alia in Raazi and how she got such an awesome role (which she did), but Taapsee was the central character in this film, yet I barely heard people talk about her performance? Not sure if I completely missed the praises, but I loved everything about this film. Abhishek and Vicky were very good, but Taapsee portrayed her character to the T.

Probably my favorite movie from 2018 honestly..

Because the film is not a hit and secondly she does not have overactive PR backed by kjo

Taapse in Manmarziyaan is amazing than Alia in Raazi for sure

I thought I was the only one who liked the movie. Tapsee was amazing as Rumi..Vicky has also performed the character really well .

Because the film stars Abhishek Bachchan, it was a flop and it is directed by Anurag Kashyap. Ticks all the wrong boxes, ab kaise praise milega 😆

Its a lovely film (parts of it could have been tighter) with superb acting by everyone and wonderful music.

people barely talk about it, because people barely saw the movie.

That is my point, why aren't people talking about this film? If it's because people have not seen it, then people should because it's a good film.

The entire film revolves around Rumi (Taapsee), and she was brilliant. If we are going to talk about "female centric films" then this is one of the ones we should be talking about.

Yep, for sure. Alia was very good in Raazi, but Taapsee was great in Manmarziyaan. I don't even think many folks within the industry watched the latter because I barely hear people talking about it.

I think the best way to put this is that I can only see Taapsee playing Rumi whereas I can see a lot of other good actresses play Sehmat. I am using Sehmat/Alia as a benchmark here because that's basically what every actor has talked about over the past year when it comes to the roles they aspire to receive...whereas someone like Taapsee received a great role, and performed it wonderfully, yet no one seemed to care? 😆 Maybe they're just kissing up to KJo too lol.

I guess with audiences, many people just didn't watch the movie to know.

i liked the movie and also taapsee..she performed to the T

but the movie is way too long..it drags in second half..due to which it tanked..

it is obvious that a blockbuster movie making 125cr (raazi) will be talked about more than a flop movie which could not even make 25cr

praise always goes hand in hand.with BO..sad but true

for eg..taapsee got much more acclaim.for Pink..where as i feel she was better here..coz pink was a superhit and made 70cr

the more a movie is seen..the more people notice your talent and more the praise

By the way, that song Daryaa was so wonderfully utilized throughout the film. It has that haunting touch to it. I think that's my favorite song from the film.

I watched it 2 weeks back and honestly struggled to finish it. The story is so so cliched and worthless. I was expecting it would be a pathbreaker where the wife actually goes back to her lover leaving her husband because that's whom she loves honestly. This changing after marriage or after coming in touch with a good stable guy and becoming sane is so repetitive. Here Tapsee's character even cheats on her husband. If she can go to that length for her lover, why not just accept it that she can continue loving her lover ? Anyways, HDDCS is still fresh in everyone's memory. So this is more or less same.

Vicky was a stunner ! Unmatched performance. Tapsee was good and definitely better than hyped Alia's performance from Razi although I dont know why we have to compare. But Tapsee really sucks in the romantic scenes specially with subtle ones (with Abhishek). She's monotonous. AB wasn't as good as he was mentioning in KWK that Jaya wont even see his performance, he was getting nervous etc etc 😆
