What is a content movie?

Everyone keeps saying content movies are doing better now. What exactly is a content movie? I

In short, movies which are backed up by director's vision and not just rely on star power are content movies. Like this year all big name heroes had their movies flopped because director relied too much on the star power and their fan followings. In content driven movies, directors communicate with the audience, in non content movies, they leave it on stars to communicate with their section of fans. Good that these days the neutral audience is outnumbering the blind fan section.

When movie has a good , engaging story . Script is the hero. When movie doesn't bore the audience but entertains the audience.

The movie achieves what it sets out to do. It has a clear understanding on what it wants to deliver to the viewer.

The problem is that almost of the movies that do well are entertaining.

Salman movies are also content movies? because I thought sultan, TZH also had engaging storylines.

A good script is one that would work with or without a star. It can hold on its own. For example the Ayushman movies this year. Now he's brilliant but even if someone else say Rajkumar was playing his roles it would still be a hit because the story is that compelling, that engaging. Similarly Stree would be hit too without Shradhha or Raj cause that was a good story.
