First of all, not all star kids can get accepted into big Universities. Kareena got accepted into a class at Harvard. I don't think it was an undergrad program. I do think Sara must have done something to earn her admission. I don't it was the star kid factor alone.

I see your point of the education system being rigged towards the rich. But that is an issue we need to fix with the education system as a whole. Even here in the US if someone pays $50,000 to go to high school at Philips Academy, they will have far better chances of getting into an A-list college than someone who went to the inner city high school I use to tutor at. It was a school dedicated to breaking the school to prison pipeline because in the U.S if you a child of color that comes from a marginalized background your far more likely to end up in prison, according to statistics ( don't mean to generalize) than an Ivy League. We need to fix these issues and make getting into good schools more based on merit than another form of nepotism I suppose.

But that being said education is a right for all. If someone wants to study they should be able to regardless if they need it for their fields.

As long as they have the money and not getting student loans for useless degrees they can hardly afford, ruining their future and burdening country's economy in the process, (like it happens in America) they can study whatever they want

Kareena did a summer course in Harvard I think

Ivy Leagues seem to have unofficial affirmative action...

Don't they give priority to minority students ( as long as they are not Asians)

Two black students made news for being accepted by all Ivy League but their SAT scores were not that great... Low expectations...

This way you are questioning the whole previous generation moms and aunties who wasted their studies after getting married and housewives. So education should be scrapped for those who decide to become housewife ?

What logic even !

Stories of one or two minorities who benefitted from affirmative actions create waves in the news. Not a lot is said about those who still suffer from discrimination. Any case it's not the right place to have this conversation.

Starkids are privileged yes but then in the education sphere everyone with money is. Its like reverse quota but outside India. But why say this for just starkids. Dont we have management quota in India where if you have money you can get a seat anywhere. Its the same outside. These Ivy league colleges are not saints. Money speaks everywhere. In India and outside. Why blame the starkids. Blame the institutions willing to compromise on their credibility.
