Thanks for the link. Didn't read the whole article but read first few paras and it mentions trade between ancient Roman Empire and the Tamil kingdom.

Maybe culturally Tamil Kingdom & Tamils were much different then... I read that it was not uncommon for Tamil traders (regular people not kings) to travel via sea to other countries for business purposes

Is there any proof that any kingdom in other parts of India did trades or that people travelled abroad?

BLUE - I could be wrong but don't think this statement is true bcz I've heard and read many incidents about Kala Paani

The whole rigmarole in wikipedia is not worth reading. But I just wanted to provide a source that people normally believe.
Kerala actually was doing the most trade. But nowadays Tamilians are claiming everything.
Ships have existed since antiquity. But to not go so far back, Chinese Admiral and one of their biggest heroes ever Zheng He from 13 something year died in Calicut.
Used to trade spices and sandalwood.
Kerala was supplying sandalwood, rosewood, spices etc to King Solomon also.
And why not? Did the Egyptians not use these things? Where else in the world do we find sandalwood, rosewood? King Solomon had a sandalwood staircase built in his famous temple.
Kerala snake boat races is part of ancient culture. They were always sea navigators.

Okay @Nigahen

Wiki said Tamil kingdom traded with ancient Rome that's why I mentioned Tamils,
maybe Kerala did too, or only Kerala did... It doesn't matter

The point is the taboo did existed in Ancient India and ancient Hinduism about crossing seas

It is true, there might be some exceptions like Tamilia and/or Keralites but it existed in rest of India
(Maybe with some exceptions)

If you're interested read the link in my previous post about Kala Pani taboo... its an interesting and informative article

^^ I dont believe it because the evidence is all there. Kala paani though may have been taboo after all. Because recently one Christian missionary was killed by our Sentinelese tribesmen. And apparently they've lived like that untouched for 50,000 years. So that makes sense that Indians avoided going to Andamans and let the tribals be.
Do you know that most of the settlers in Andamans are descendants of Mapila murderers? Some were housed in the big cellular jail there-Saza e Kala Paani and some were left free.
It says the British had to devise falsehoods to fool the people into going abroad as indentured labour. Sure they did. They created artificial famines in UP/Bihar/Andhra etc.
Sea navigation and trade is one thing. But who wants to go abroad as an indentured labour slave? The whole premise is ridiculous.
About the temple also I wont be surprised if it's just internal politics matter using some ridiculous later additions. Anyway to each their own.
But the evidence is undeniable.

Most Kings and politicians are looters and thieves quite true. Royalties these days are losing their powers slowly.
Even the Saudi King's heir, Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the murder of Khashoggi according to CIA, but it was also politically driven I think. All for power and wealth.

He ordered Khashoggi's killing bcz Khashoggi was writing stuff against the Saudi gov that is the Saudi Royals, I think

That nation is known for all kinds of human rights violations and abuses, refusing basic rights to their citizens

Do people really believe this is the first time they have murdered somebody bcz of disagreement?

But this one was very brazen... Cutting the body parts and carrying it out in various bags 🤢

And China and Tukey are notorious for human right abuses as well even though they are not monarchy like Saudi

Bold - Yes I've heard about how even many armies looted after defeating a kingdom or a town
The army men looted, plundered the city (their actual income was meager so their Kings were okay with it) raped women, killed for fun...
