Yes, Old actresses don't get to romance young actors other than some exceptional cases like I mentioned above. But people don't complain about it in that context. They have a problem with the idea itself, of a middle-aged actor acting like a youngster in movies opposite young actresses. If we reverse the genders, criticism doesn't happen much because it's a very rare case and seen as women empowerment which is true.
Maybe you missed it but there were hints of Haider having sexual feelings for his mother in the movie.
