When I heard about Amy opposite Rajini in 2.0, it sounded so weird, because Amy looks so young. Thalaiva romancing her will literally look like a grandpa romancing his granddaughter. But seeing the trailer, it seems like it has worked quite well. Whether it's Thalaiva's charishma or the makeup, but him romancing alot younger actresses than him never looks bad in movies.

Same with the Khans, somehow it just works. Because it is always established that there is an age difference between them and their heroines. And why just Khans? Even Akki and Ajay romance young actresses. Ajay romanced Pari in golmaal and no one raised an eyebrow on IF. People just need a reason to bash Khans. But this is not a valid reason. Why Khans have to act their age when their fans still want them to play young roles? Even if they dance like young actors, what's the problem? It's being ageist if you expect old people to act in a certain way. And the actresses they romance are adults with full consent, then how the heck is it pedophillia either, I don't understand.

Age is a number. It's not a problem. But when it happens one way people complain.

For that, women need power. They should produce their own movies and act with younger men if that's what they consider success.

At a time, when we say Age difference between Real life couples should not be an issue. Dont understand the hullabaloo over the Age difference between two persons doing Acting jobs. This is just a professional work. If two people look good on camera, what is wrong in it?

I understand what you are saying, but this has more to do with sexism and not ageism. Yes, Old actresses don't get to romance young actors other than some exceptional cases like I mentioned above. But people don't complain about it in that context. They have a problem with the idea itself, of a middle-aged actor acting like a youngster in movies opposite young actresses. If we reverse the genders, criticism doesn't happen much because it's a very rare case and seen as women empowerment which is true.

Okay, then maybe I've missed it, but mostly I see the Khans especially SRK getting bashed for playing young roles.
