Why do the TV shows do this? As far as I know Ruqaiyya didn't need intrigue and conspiracy to solidify her position. She was already quite close to Akbar and had way more Influence than Salim/Jahangir's mother Mariam-ul-zamani. As for her conspiring to kill Salim. Why would she do that? She had no child of her own as far as I know and practically raised Salim. I don't really understand her motive here. What would she gain by killing the hier to the Mughal throne? The plot seems way too clich right now.

I totally agree with you. It would have been more interesting to see gray shades, instead of out an out vamp.

They keep saying she does siyaasat, not saazish, but frankly all I see is her doing saazish.
If she has been trying to kill Salim for so long, how is it possible that she never gets caught or keeps failing and he grows into an adult unharmed?

It's also the glorification of Jodha that makers focus on without having the guts to show a strong and honorable Ruqaiyyah and have two queens/co-wives coexisting without betrayal and intrigue.

I even read somewhere that Akbar loved Ruqaiyya that most and in his later years maybe even regretted having taken so many wives.

For me.. I dont read anything abt rukaiya except dat Khurram was reared by her and she was Akbar frst wife, her cousin, and one of 3 chief consort. Abul fazl totally ignore her in Akbarnama..
Rather I read many things about Marium uz zamani(jodha bai/heer kuwar/harka bai) dat she was 3rd chief consort and 1st rajpoot wife.. She had rare privilage to give farman, also had position of 12000 calvary, She had her own international business of spice and had own ships.. she was influential in politics and was immensely rich among the begums of Akbar.. She quite enjoyed a lot of power.. She hold 3 titled, marium uz zamani(marry of ages) mallika e muezzame(matrix of chastity) and nimat walia( gift of god) ect..
The story of the show is historically innaccurate in many way.. Daniyal was not dat bossy on Salim.. He was 3 yra younger dan him.. Murad was elder dan daniyal and 8 mnths younger dan salim and reared by Salima begum.. . Daniyal was reared by Jodha bai's mother at amer.. He should not be here in agra now.. Salima was a poise lady and elder dan rukaiya(they were cousin) I donno why she called her Appa.. and why the hell Jodha called ruku Appa?? Which queen called other queen appa

I have also read that when Jahangir/Salim rebelled against Akbar it was Ruqaiyya and Salima who made peace between father and son. They urged Salim to ask for his Father's forgiveness.
