Can Vicky become an A-list mainstream hero?

Vicky Kaushal is on all-time career high. He has achieved box office success as well as critical acclaim. The biggest sign that he has made it big is he seem to be Karan's new favorite. He had already worked with him in Lust stories and has bagged a role in another of his project, Takht. Another plus point, the public seem to love him.

Right now thankfully the line between the mainstream and parallel cinema is getting somewhat blurred anyway...So yes, in that context Vicky has a huge potential in becoming an A-lister!

Anybody can become if they keep doing good work and deliver at box office.

I noticed that Vicky is the only actor from the indie/parallel cinema who seemed to have garnered a lot of public interest in a very short period of time. Everyone seem to root for the guy. Rajkumar Rao, Irrfan never garnered such reactions and interest despite being in the industry for so long.

He has had a breakthrough year...hope he becomes an A list star...

He has unconventional looks which i like but i'm sure many wouldn't. So i guess drawing masses would be difficult, but u never know. I hope he does.

No he lacks mainstream hero persona.

He has to pull of some masala and commercial roles for such. But he like Rajkumar Rao does not have such swag.


Manmarziyan flopped too, with opening it got. It showed that Sanju and Raazi had no impact on commercially. Finally URI is major test but that it self is risky with many factors such as dull release phase.

He and Rajkumar are somewhat similar where they will see some major success through extra ordinary scripts but will tend to fail when it comes without backing of a strong content. Though I find him 100 times better than Rajkumar.
Sadly he won't ever become Ranbir, Ranveer or Varun level star
