Along with that, I also like the fact that both the families have equal standard of living. Generally in the soaps ML's family is rich n they keep taunting the FL n her family about their status or vice versa. Nobody is richer or poorer in BP n we don't have to hear those ghise pite taunts once more...that's really awesome! I like how none of papa hooda n Waseem chacha can manipulate eachother using their money.
However, I want to know the purpose behind writing one Hindu n one Muslim character...there must have been some purpose, no? This story would have been same with two people from same religion. There must have been some thought, isn't it

Same! i have thought about it too! about whether or not there was a specific reason for having different religions for the leads. But then again maybe it was to showcase ki tolerance can indeed exist in society and religion doesnt need to be the sole reason why a relationship might not work have worked.

and yes, kudos for the concept of making both the families equally wealthy too! i do think the Hoodas are a bit more better off tho😆😆, but yes there have never been those stupid taunts about societal status directed towards either of the leads and thats amazingly refreshing too😳

True that.
This is a fact that I have appreciated the most from the start. Even the grouchy Waseem never once came up with religious difference as the reason for arranging Zoya's marriage with Arshad and that is really remarkable.

Kudos to the makers & writers .

Completely agree one of the reasons why I like this show is how different it is from other shows. In ITV standards, the Male lead always comes from a rich family and female lead from a middle class or poor family. the girl's family have to bear taunts about their social class but in Bepannaah the leads come from the same social class.

Coming to the religion, I will be honest when I saw jenny's post about her new character's name being Zoya I had assumed Bepannaah was just going to be another Muslim based drama. But when I read harshad character's name was Aditya I was shocked 😆 because I never came across a Serial where the leads belong to different religions. Also I was expecting a lot of religious conflict when I started watching the show but was surprised that religion had nothing to do with the main storyline.

See it has been shown that both Aditya and Zoya come from rich families. Not only that they are rich they are educated. Aditya was a pilot and of course he is capable of running Zosh if he dont want to be a pilot again. Arjun is a lawyer. Papa Hooda is also a lawyer and Anjana is a well educated lady by looking at her class.
Coming to Siddiques I dont know Wasim's profession but he is refined. His love for Shayari, the cultured ways of both Zoya and Noor. The freedom in dressing both the girls enjoy shows they were also educated well and were not given strict religious training.

Usually in such families religion/caste plays a minor role. It is the overall acceptability of the individual that matters. yes they prefer to have the girl/boy from same caste/religion but if it comes the other way if they find the boy/girl acceptable things will proceed. Roshnaq is fine with Aditya and Papa Hooda is fine with Zoya if she is who his son loves. Wasim and Anjana reason is different.

If you come to Kerala in urban upper middle class families intercaste/inter religion marriage has come to be accepted. Atleast fifty percent of my friends had inter caste even inter state marriages and they are all doing quite good.

Since I come from IT sector, atleast 1 among four couples will be inter caste/inter religion. To a great extent our sector has also got the name that it is the reason love marriage increased in India 😆😆.

The normal scenerio indian television is rich angry young man ML and bubbly chirpy middle class FL which is GK's favourite recipe or else an ML who is a celebrity or famous business man with high family name and a normal FL with high values from middle class family which is EK's favourite recipe...But BP stood out in between these category of shows...because we have a both the ML and FL from same financial background and social class...and yes the show also don't go by the formula of opposites attract...because there are many things common between AdiYa like their favourite colour, KKHH and like of bollywood movies etc..yet they are two completely different personalities...two religion...two beliefs...still has great respect for each other...i would say adithya and zoya are more close to reality than any other show I have watched...
