Ofcourse SP wants him. But why would he agree to do a show that air at 7:30 when in the past few uears he has always been on the prime time slot? And that too a cameo.
Maybe SP wanted to irk his loyal fans some more! Badduaaein kam pad gai shayad.

I hope Zain royally shows SP the middle finger.

I am really choosing a minority side on this Discussion.! I know i may be bashed for whatever i am going to say, but still its Just My POV.

SP has already Cashed in Zain to make him a big brand and stand him where he is now, through NK.! Most of you people will agree, Zain was never a big name before NK.!

I have followed his previous show and Forum too, he was royally sidelined in front of Male Protagonist, Sidhant Gupta. Though he shared a very friendly bond with both ML and FL and he stilm shares the same friendship with them, but thats another story.!

To be very honest, i have myself never given any heeds to Zain in previous show inspite of followung it ardently, so His Extreme level of Popularity came after NK only.!

Whatever issues are that leads to abrupt shuting down of NK is between PH and SP, hence SP is considerate/minded(buisneess) enough to offer Zain another role even when the previous show is still running, so Unlike of SP.! I have never seen SP repeating the actors in pivotal roles. So they knew the cat fight with PH is making them losse a gold fish and they are just doing good buisness in trying to reatian him with SP.

Another thing is about side roles or cameos, I am not saying they are good or bad. But TV world me "Joh Dikhta hai Voh Chalta hai" be it in lead role or sideys. If the character is strong enough to leave an impact on audience then whats wring in taking up a side role, we ourselves has good example in front of us, in name of Neela Maa played by Sayantani.! That was a character to be remembered for life time. Was it a lead role.? Nope. But a strong pivotal role in this Tale.!

Plus Survival and lavish lifestyle in Mumbai is no cakewalk.

What i am trying to say is, Be mature in selecting the role and not be specific and limited to some Prissy Male Protagonist.

I dont want Zain Imam to be a one timer in this industry. There is so much competition, u just cant sit and wait for lead roles.

Lastly i hope to see him soon on my Screen.!

And wish the same for Aditi too.!

Plz do not bash me for this.! Its a neutral view from a viewer who watched TV for fun and entertainment and not for some Celebrity crush.!

Agreed he gained most of his popularity due to NK, but I don't agree with sidelining of zain in tashan e ishq for sidhant. In fact sidhant/ twinkle-kunj fans complained a lot that more screen space and character experimentation was given to zain as yuvi rather than the leads kunj and twinkle. Also zain actually won more awards than his two co-stars in that show due to the immense popularity of his character, where jasmin won three awards, but only one of the awards was solely for her whereas the other two awards were shared between her and sid for best couple and between her and her on-screen mother. Sid got no award of his own except the shared couple award with jasmin, whereas zain went away with three awards all for himself for best villain. Literally most of the awards that were won for tashan e ishq were by zain for his negative role. And zain hence proved more popular than sid and jasmin. So I have to disagree with that part.

When i reffered sidelining, i didnt refer it for Yuvi as a caharacter, i said it for Zain as an actor.! I was not talking about Yuvi's SS and the character experimantation n all. Ofcourse he was theead too, though antagonist. I was talking about Zain's popularity in comaprision to others at that particular time, or precisely before joining NK.

I am not saying he wasnt popualr, popular to woh KYY ke time bhi tha, i was talking about the craze the insane the extreme level of popularity he gas gained is after joining NK. During that time he was a talented actor with lot of potential waiting for a deserving chance to sum up and mutliply his popularity and he did got one, as NK.!

Also, i dont have that tabulated data on Awards n all, but i do Beleive Awards are no benchmark to judge anybody's talent or popularity. If that would have been the case, he should be filled with n number of Awards now for essaying Neil with perfection, but we all know the reality. So i would really not like to comment on that.!

@Riya Excellent points! Worth pondering over.
But in all honesty ,I don't think it works like that. The popularity of an actor is a combined effort of the axtor, the ph, and the channel.
In Zain's case I believe it was majorly because of the extra ordinary character NEIL KHANNA, that he got to play . Very realistic and relatable. Plus put in the good looks and the ability to act, and it was already a recipe for success.

Plus I have observed, very popular male leads have not really been utilized again by the channels. If the whole investment thing was true, we would have seen several actors being repeated by channels time and again. It is mostly, and not always, that actors are repeated by the PH and not the channel.

Lets see for instance,
Hussain never worked on a daily soap on star after kumkum
Eijaaz khan after kavyanjali
Amar upadhyaye after ksbkbt
Armaan from jassi on sony
Anuraag from kasauti, eventhough that serial might have a comeback.
Jay bhanushali in kayamath
And ram kapoor in kasam se
Kinshuk from that sisiters serial
i Don't think
harshad chopra hasn't come back on star.

Even barun sobti, so popular once upon a time on sp could not recreate the magic on the channel with his second stint.
Even the guy from ishqbaaz.
On the other hand, lets see Avika gor. Colors probably has a monopoly over her . Bit she definitely could not re create the ballika vadhu magic with her other serials. So ,ultimately it all comes down to characters

Moreover ,male leads have one or two prominent roles in their career span. And after that it usually fades out.

Now, I am not sure about the motives of sp to re-sign zain. But I believe it will not end up well.
Firstly it is a cameo. People won't be happy. All zain fans want more screen space for him.

Two, he is already now very popular. (obviously sp has a hand in it) but that means he might get better projects and better time slots

Three, unnecessary comparisons will be drawn with Neil Khanna. And that is one kick ass character extremely difficult to beat.

It is not prime time. And that is bothersome. 7:30 is hardly the time slot where a talented actor like Zain should be put in.

So, for me,
I think zain should refuse.

Though this is not the TEI forum just wanted to say that Jasmin and Zain stayed for the entire duration of the show ( 1 year and 3 months) while Sid was only there for nine months so perhaps Zain and Jasmin had more opportunities to get awards. I remember there was discussion about the Zee Gold Awards ,where Jasmin bagged her third award , that the channel would not offer the complementary award to Sid as he had voluntarily left the show to join Jhalak .

Also I think in TEI Jasmin's and Zain's acting was quite weak and over the top at the beginning . However Jasmin was a natural at the light comedic scenes right from the start. Sid in my opinion was the strongest actor at the start. Like Jasmin he was a natural at light comedic scenes but also good at more dramatic emotional scenes such as between him and his mom and him and his dad on the show. He basically maintained this level throughout his tenure on the show but was not as convincing at the close up romantic scenes though he improved over time but still there was a bit of inconsistency. Though the consummation scene between Kunj and Twinkle just before Sid left the show was well done by both actors and got over a million views on you tube. Not really sure what that was about lol Jasmin and Sidhant had amazing chemistry onscreen as a young quirky couple who were initially forced together against their will. Twinkle bubbly and fiesty. Kunj laid back quiet and patient . Yet they stood by each other through thick and thin before the leap in the last 31/2 months of the show butchered all the characters. That seems common in indian soap operas . The same thing is happening in Naamkaran. Anyway Twinkle played by Jasmin and Kunj played by Sidhant had such a charm that you were willing to watch the show just to get a glimpse of them even when the story went off track especially from the blood transfusion storyline onwards. I find the actors who portray Zara and Kabir in Ishq Suban Allah have a similar sort of charm which allows you to watch the show inspite of the cliched treatment of some storylines.

As the show progressed Jasmin greatly improved in emotional dramatic and romantic scenes though she was still sometimes inconsistent. I still remember her scene where they thought Kunj had died and was having the death ceremony when Twinkle grabbed his picture, ran to a dark room and sank to the floor hugging the picture to her chest refusing to believe Kunj had died. No crying indeed not a sound was uttered but a distraught desperate lost look on her face which to me was more powerful than crumpling to the fall and crying hysterically as has been seen many times.

Anyway getting to Zain as Yuvi when his evil intentions were revealed Zain was amazing. I think he had the most natural raw talent of the three actors and as the negative male lead Zain really got to showcase and develop his talent. Frankly I enjoyed him more as Yuvi than Neil. He also ad you mentioned got so much awards for his portrayal of Yuvi. In in a recent interview with the Bombay or Delhi times ( you can google it or people retweeted the link on twitter and instagram) he mentioned that the turning point in his career came in TEI and also acknowledged that Naamkaran took his popularity to the next level. He said as an artiste he found there was more scope with a negative role but would want to play more positive roles for a while. He also said he found an infinite show monotonous and did not know how such shows could run for years He said he would like to do a biopic or finite series or movies if he got the chance. Since TEI days he mentioned he was a big fan of Salman Khan and would want to enter Bollywood one day and even do action movies . He had also mentioned before that he is not a big fan of romantic roles. Anyway I am not from India and look at very few india soap opera serials on and off and find they are often not well written compared to many western shows which I am accustomed to . I admire an actor who does a role that is content driven if the script is strong and the character interesting whether the character is positive or negative . It helps him improve his skills as an actor and connect to a wider audience. So I really hope Zain with all his talent fulfills his bollywood dreams and even does a strong finite series or web series which could have a romantic subplot but maybe is more in the drama, mystery, thriller or action genre. I hope he is not stuck being an indian television soap opera actor but it is difficult to break into Bollywood and Indian tv unlike in the west seems to be dominated by soap operas so he may have to take another role in a soap opera as he will want to continue to work use his skills be relevant and earn a living. However I hope one day sooner rather than later all his professional dreams come true and he has greatvsuccess and fulfillment in his career. I wish the same for Sidhant and Jasmin . It is interesting how all three of them and several other indian tv soap opera actors mention that they hardly look at tv and if they donthey donnot watch indian soap operas but western shows or Bollywood and Hollywood movies but there fan base who are often teenagers or young adults younger than them are obessed with soap operas and often talk about watching them with their whole family. Interesting cultural phenomenon. Sorry for the typos . I am typing this in my phone

For me I thought jasmin was good at the crying and emotional scenes, and that's about it. Sid was fab in the comedy and romance aspect, but didn't like him in emotional scenes as he was really unconvincing to me there. Zain on the other hand for me was the stand out as the insane villain of the show. He was cool, crazy, creepy, hot, psychotic, charming, irritating, and intense all at the same time in his performance. I didn't like him in emotional scenes near to the end of the show when the new kunj came in, but I loved him with everything else, especially those intensely flirtatious and romantic moments with jas before kunj-twinkle marriage happened.
