This isn't intended to be a depressing topic...just some thoughts on how Shivika are coping with the current set of events, and the different interpretations of what Family means to different characters in this storyline.
Based on today's epi, the writers seem to be going with the angle that Anika feels Shivaay considered her an outsider all this time, didn't really consider her a part of his family...Keeping aside some of her outlandish statements about how she only "tolerated" his protectiveness for his family all this time cuz she thought one day he'll "choose her over family"😆, there is some validity to the argument that Shivaay has found it tough to truly pull Anika into the overall circle of family.
Even after all this time, in many cases he's used the term "MERA parivaar" rather than HUMARA parivaar...I just presumed that Anika was ok with this cuz she never raised it as an issue...she never said HUMARA parivaar...she always said AAPKA parivaar even if she treated them like her own...so this seems to be a case of expectations not clearly communicated and now Anika has turned it into a grudge in her hurt/naaraazgi. Do you walk out over a grudge like this? Do you end a a whole relationship over this? Obviously no...but the writers seem to have other plans😆
Anika technically has three sets of family right now...one is Sahil, another is her birth father HVT and a Chutki...and then there's the Oberois...lol if I was to use Anika's twisted logic, didn't she also choose her 'family' Sahil over her husband Shivaay? 😆...anytime Anika has faced a situation where Sahil was insulted or in danger, did she just take it quietly? Was she ever blackmailed with Sahil as leverage? Ah yes she was...by Shivaay himself...lol and did she give in? Why yes she did😆...by marrying Shivaay...so raising this issue of "Family v/s husband v/s wife" again and again is counterproductive...not sure if the writers will tackle that properly here.
Then there's Shivaay's point of view in all this...utterly broken and battered as he sits by Pinky's bedside, out pours his hurt and disappointment that Anika didn't have faith in him, that she didn't wait for him like she had promised she would...he almost sounded like a little child complaining to his mom...lol...it pinches even more that he was trying to do all this to spare her hurt over her father but he couldn't control things as intended and it all fell apart...the one constant in Shivaay's life over the last two years has been the fact that Anika has been there to temper him, to sambhaalo him if he falls apart...she is the only one he's shared his deepest vulnerabilities with...and today at one of his lowest points, she simply left him without a word...hence forms a grudge...he wants answers to his questions...and soon enough the grudge hardens into hatred as well...this is what happens when you let wounds fester...and Anika was beyond caring for his wounds by this point since she convinced herself there weren't any...that hers are the only wounds here...lol
Two ppl who supposedly should have learnt by now that they are each other's salvation, that they cannot exist with each other, still succumbed to ego and hurt😆
There's Anika on one hand vowing that she will never show him her face or talk to him again...lol behaving like a roothi hui biwi even though she claims there is no rishta b/w them anymore...it's almost as if she still wants to punish him even though she claims that he doesn't care about her anymore...so if he doesn't care, kyun dikhaana hai Shivaay ko naraazgi, Anika? Why so confused? 😆
And there's Shivaay on the other end...vowing to "settle scores" and make Anika pay for what she did...but isn't it obvious that more than anything he just wants to find her first cuz his life has literally come to a standstill without her?...he threw himself into getting Tej-Shakti freed from jail as something to focus his mind on...meanwhile Pinky in a coma just adds to his festering wound as he helplessly pleads with her to wake up...and there is no Anika around to put a balm on those wounds...so all they can do is fester for now...until he sees her again...then another dam will break.
In all this, love got pushed to the back...anger, ego, and hurt is now front and center...and in a stroke of irony, Shivaay just bought a cricket team in time for him and Anika to start a new "match/battle" of their own...waah waah...IPL season mein IB mein bhi IPL...Gulneet are such trolls😆😆
Remains to be seen if either Shivaay or Anika get the answers they are looking for by the end of this.
