Reminds me of this individual below who decided to spend the money building housing for the poor rather than blowing it all in a day. The amount of appreciation and heartfelt thanks the bride is going to get from these poor people is the ultimate reward.

Interestingly I was talking to someone last week and this girl spent $70k on her wedding but things didn't last and they seperated within 6 months. Not a significant amount by any means compared to many other Punjabi households but she regret going overboard and think she could have easily put that as down payment and bought her own apartment on mortgage.

good deed if she really donates that money...but then I am sure her wedding in mumbai will also be grand...already there is talks of grand reception in Delhi...so all in all, she is just saving the traveling to different country part...

btw, just talking about charity when it comes to wedding, but what about the lavish lifestyle that she lives ?? Wouldn't that money be useful somewhere else...

Well anything is better than nothing. However small I say any good deed we should take it because if we roll that way there won't be any end to it.

If she's really donating and using that money for good cause it's good

Her words are open to interpretation where she says "I rather give it away". I am giving her benefit of doubt and think she doesn't want to boast about her donations and will probably do it in private.

But there is an entirely different version doing the rounds.

A few weeks back, Kapoors had initially spoken to a resort in Montreux for booking it for Sonam's functions and the officials at the resort agreed in principle. However, weeks passed and when Kapoors went back to the resort to make payments, unfortunately, they were informed that a Saudi princess has already booked the place and now no rooms or banquets were available.

Our sources reveal that Rhea and Sonam went to the higher authorities of the resort to get maximum number of rooms for latter's wedding. In fact, Kapoor sisters also said that actress' wedding can get the hotel a lot of limelight and get publicity. But the authorities refused and said their policy is first come first serve and since the Saudi princess paid and blocked the resort first, they can't cancel his booking.
