The only possibility I see is that maybe they were considering a big European wedding but decided to scale down and do something smaller after Sridevi's death. It just doesn't look good to go too crazy when a family member has died recently.

Also a lot of times people don't realize what a hassle a destination wedding is until they actually start the planning. It is one of the most annoying things in the world coordinating the travel and hotel dates for hundreds of family members and many won't be able to attend for various reasons.

I have been to some destination weddings and most guests have HATED them. You feel so tired from the running around and taking flights and jet lag. It's so frustrating taking all those Indian clothes with you and dragging the luggage everywhere and getting ready in hotel rooms. There is no comfort, you end up forgetting half your stuff at home and you're already tired even before the wedding begins. It takes away half the fun. You don't get to enjoy the exotic locations anyway because you're busy with the wedding events and nobody has so much time that they can hang around before/after the wedding. Most people are in a rush to get back home because everyone has work and school commitments.

Celebs have the luxury to go in a shop and take clothes if they are sponsored. They do not necessarily spend money.

The higher profile you are thenjoying best it is. It's not true for everyone but a celebs who has a fashionista image would most likely than not have such deals.

Do you have any idea of the budget Alia, Sonam... put into their wardrobes ?

Sonam is entitled to her opinion, you may not like it but it's true that some people forget themselves while planning their wedding.

Their is a right balance in everything. She is not saying that people shouldn't spend on their wedding but sometime it's just too much.

I remember an Indian wedding which made the news some years ago because it was the most expensive. Guests had gold cutlery. That's just mauvais gout and laughable imo.

And really? Do we know in which proportions is Sonam talking ?

Because if the figures of her wedding come out ; you might say "oh what a hypocrite, she said..." but for her it would be measly money.
