Happy Birthday Aamir Khan
Hi people, I have just started watching this show, only for one reason - only to understand the stupid logic applied to justify a love-hate relationship of a widow and a widower. I simply fail to understand, is it so necessary to show a hate angle to every love story...is there no other way?
Zoya and Aditya, are two individuals who are devoted to their respective partners who are pushed into a situation where they have apparently been betrayed by their partners, which isn't even clear as to who was cheating with whom. But both the characters have digested the fact as per their sensibilities. Zoya has utmost faith in her husband, the faith with which she married him going against her family and his. She is in pain, but she has not been broken. Aditya is shown to have taken this fact rather badly, as he being an overtly emotional person, his negative and positive emotions both have their extremes.
Zoya comes from a background, where she has a protected upbringing. She is just not of this world as she is just too naive and easily trusts anyone, which I find extremely hard to digest in today's world. Even her husband, Yash gave her a very protected life, even protected her from his own problems and miseries. However, she is not as fragile as everyone thinks. She is gathering herself back together, and fighting all odds to safeguard all that belonged to her dead husband, for her dead husband. Yash is not Zoya's weakness, but has turned into her source of strength.
Aditya has had a lavish upbringing, with everything at his disposal, however his family is dysfunctional. What I believe is Aditya has always had immense trust issues. He has been let down by his father, when he should have been his hero. His mom also isn't close to him for various reasons, but I feel, she too may have had an affair with someone else like his dad. So he has been let down by his own family. His only confidant was Pooja, his best friend and his wife. She was his support system, someone he leaned upon.
What I believe Aditya's problem is that he has had Pooja as his pillar, but had he been a pillar to Pooja? has he been with Pooja, the way she was with him? I agree Aditya had some expectations from his wife, but did he understand the expectations his wife had from him ? Aditya and Pooja are best buddies, but with marriage that equation is bound to change. For Aditya, Pooja was just his best friend, and wife was a tag, but Pooja needed a man as a husband, not a man-child. I am not justifying Pooja's affair, but what I am trying to say here is Aditya too had to attempt to understand his wife who is his best-friend. Pooja too is at fault here, as she should have been more open to him. Maybe, it would have worked out, if Pooja had just spoken to Aditya, and not just chronicle her misery of living with a overgrown man-child
Coming to Aditya and Zoya, both are able to bring out those sides of each other, which their dead partners could not. Aditya by constantly challenging and taunting Zoya, allows Zoya to explore the strength in her and fight her own problems. She is a little wrong when it comes to judging people, but that will change as the character grows. Similarly, Zoya being too naive for her own good, triggers the protector/saviour/responsible Aditya, which he never got to be with Pooja, as she could handle her own.
As far as falling in love first is concerned, even though its too early to write about it, I think it can be an either/or situation. Zoya is very devoted to Yash, and going by the way of the show, it seems that Yash will turn out to be innocent, and her faith will be proven right, but it will be a big burn for Aditya. I really hope that it is not Arjun who turns out to be the one Pooja was having an affair, but you never know. Also, this Mahi lady, has the looks of a killer on her face. Coming to the topic, Zoya can fall for him 1st, but will take time to accept. With Aditya, he is a duffer, he will not understand even if he falls for Zoya, and if he does, he will not let her out of his 'I OWN YOU' sight. That will be another treat to watch.😆

I agree with everything you just said above. Adi has sorta protected her from harm and taken over Yash's responsibility of looking after her post his death. But it'd have been so cool to see how AdiYa would have interacted had they met somewhere with their spouses before their deaths. I'm sure Adi and Zoya would have had so much fun laughing over everything juvenile. We saw a glimpse of it in the first episode.
