is-she-not rumours about Deepika
Padukone and onscreen-off-screen beau
Ranveer Singh that have set the virtual
world afire, comes the news that the
reticent actress is believed to have (finally)
liked a script and given her nod to a
Bollywood film. PeepingMoon.com sources
say this film will be produced by Fox Star
Studios and directed by Anurag Basu. And it
will revolve entirely on Deepika. That's about
all that is known at the time of this
proposed project. Basu, whose last release
was the jinxed Jagga Jasoos in July 2017,
was reportedly considering a sequel to his
highly acclaimed musical drama Life in A
Metro of 2007.
After Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat that
released in January, Deepika's next film was
reportedly going to be Vishal Bhardwaj's
adaptation of the book Queens of Mumbai
that is based on the mafia women of
Mumbai's gangland and their involvement
in smuggling, gun-running, drugs and
terrorism for many decades. But this film
apparently got put on hold because of her
co-star Irrfan Khan's health issues and also
to give the actress some time to recover
from the back problems she suffered
during the shooting of Padmaavat.

Ranveer's May destination wedding in
Switzerland are NOT true
In an interview after the resounding
success of Padmaavat, tired of being asked
what next, Deepika had said, "It has never
been about now what. Whatever I do, I do
it with purpose and intention. And my
intention has always been to bring some
change, to impact people's lives, or to be
able to empower people with my work. I
think the film I pick now will have to be
meaningful. Piku was a small film but it had
depth. I have to find that connect with the
script. It (my choice) is not budget related
or else I would not have done Finding
Fanny.
The actress, who got busy after Padmaavat
helping her parents complete their home
and putting her own house in order and
setting up her office, talked about the kind
of film she would like to do next. People
keep asking Deepika why she cannot do
another Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, to which
her response has always been, "But people
aren't making that many love stories
anymore. Everyone is making sports
biopics. She said that she wants to do
something fun and light. That's the brief
she has sent out in Bollywood.
Can it be that the project she has reportedly
okayed for Basu and Fox is on these lines?
