Salman Khan and co-actors from the film Hum Saath Saath Hain- Tabu, Sonali Bendre, Saif Ali Khan and Neelam had gone hunting on the night of October 1-2, 1998 in Jodhpur. Salman Khan had shot and killed two blackbucks and was convicted by the court today. Salman has been sentenced to five years imprisonment, whereas Tabu, Neelam Soni, Sonali Bendre and Saif Ali Khan have been acquitted due to the lack of evidence. As per an eye-witness, it was Tabu who had egged Salman Khan to shoot the blackbuck. The eyewitness told a leading news channel that Salman Khan was provoked by Tabu to pull the trigger.
In an earlier interview, Salman Khan had revealed that he did not kill the blackbuck, but had refused to give the name of the person who did. "I was not the one who shot," Salman Khan had said.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan's fans have erupted with anger on social media with fans pleading the judiciary to find the real culprit. Bollywood celebrities like Jaya Bachchan, Varun Dhawan, Kabir Bedi, Subhash Ghai and Arjun Rampal lent their support to Salman Khan after the verdict was pronounced. At his Mumbai residence, Sonakshi Sinha, Malaika Arora, Daisy Shah and others were spotted.
