EDT~ ep. 76~5.2.18 My stance. Err on the side of caution..
The date in theory was not a bad idea, yet another option to explore but in practice it's Sharanya's imprudence at handling the combination of previous knowledge and spirits that shows her throwing caution to the winds.
Vyom is an old hand in concealing some untold secret. I would say, he studies well her behaviour. She normally kept her distance, despite her loyal act of marrying him to save his life from the spirit. Yet her sudden disciplined shy acceptance , does make him wonder.. is he by any chance under her scrutiny? To Vyom she was making one to many glaring tell tale blunders. Insisting he drink ,plus drinking with him,was a dead giveaway. He had to give her space to get to the bottom of what she was after? why his inner secret! So to her bottoms up! it was a glass of sparkling water for him. Shiv as her invisible guardian angel cum advisor is livid at seeing Sharanya abandon all caution! and put herself at great risk by the minute. Not even Shiv's loud reprimand gets through to her.. she is completely knocked out!
Have to say Bedi house is a place where suspense is coming out from every nook ,corner and crevice of the house. Conspiracies hatch at the drop of a hat. Distrust seems to be the word. Doubt of motives lie undercurrent in day to day family functioning. The recent preoccupation is Vidyut's unexplained disappearance. Rati is not to be blamed for being cautious, hiring a sleuth to keep tabs on Sharanya's movement as much as Rati sides Sharanya. After all she was the last one with Vidyut.To me Sharanya is being pulled into a quagmire of incriminating incidents. Worse still the girl seems unaware of this.
Seems Vyom attempt, to avoid the risk of keeping the date public, interestingly does not go unnoticed. Rajan suddenly needs Vyom for Madhvi's prescription! The lad is not around, but footsteps can be heard by Rajan. Another feature of this family, people eavesdrop..spy regularly! Seems none relax, always watchful of each other!
So where are Sharanya and Vyom? playing a romantic hooky! The drunken lass throws caution to the winds! But the ten steps Vyom is smug as a bug! He is enjoying this game where he seems to have the upper hand. Shiv tries to stir Sharanya into her senses. But, her inadvertent recklessness, favours Vyom and rejects all her efforts!
Back at home, Rati covers up for the missing couple, tells Rajan they have gone to the temple. Seems Chandni lurks about to gather clues about Vidyuts disappearance.. I would say ,more to stitch Rajan up .Rati warns her! and Chandni's bad habit of eavesdropping stops. Seems, Rati continues to go by what Sharanya told all about her last encounter with Vidyut. Despite that Rati looks out for Chandni! she constantly maligns Sharanya before Rati. Mind you, Rati is strong before Chandni..Rati takes her own decisions, she will take Rajan into confidence. Vyom needs to collect his mothers prescription.. Madhvi needs it !
Vyom though gives Sharanya a piece of her own medicine. To me none loses or win in the date game. They both cheat upon each other. She dupes him to drink, to get the truth out of him! he drinks water and lets her speak bits about the past that he presumed she couldn't recall! However Vyom fails to grasp her real motive behind this drunken date! He can see she is beyond hearing his words, it's time to pay up and leave! Shiv watches.. what a total debacle and fizzle out!
Before the drunk Sharanya reaches home, news gets home. The sleuth does a swell job. Chandni though taunts Rati, for hypocrisy, meaning well for Sharanya ,yet keeping her movements watched!
Talking about being merry! Shiv sees she's proper high! He warns her to be quiet! But her high spirits make her sing!! She argues sing she will Shiv ! the name that cautions Vyom!! it freezes him when he hears her say Shiv! Sharanya gets disorderly. The scene lies parallel with how Vyom behaved when he swerved her steering wheel! Vyom brakes and stops! This time Shiv sits in the rear seat and Vyom drives in control. Shiv tries to throw Vyom off the scent! Tells Sharanya to sing A song with Shiv's name in it..
The couples photo gives Chandni a chance to twist Vyom and Sharanya, meeting, some celebration by the looks of it !what do they celebrate Vidyut's death? She picks on Rati lying on their behalf! Yet again Chandni stirs, Vyom too will dupe and lie.. after all he's Rajan's son! Like father! Like son!
A little bit of booze goes a long way for a first time drinker! Quite a spirited entry Sharanya makes when she gets home! Sharanya Madhvi meeting in the garden is like a comedy of errors! Madhvi decides to reveal all! No danger of camera capture. Instead, the listener's hearing is there but the perceptive comprehension is watered down by spirit! the one that numbs the brain dead! Sharanya babbles on, even in her drunken state. She wants to please Madhvi, babbles on about the broken vase! To me the vase is Sharanya's brain that is in pieces, contains numbing alcohol! Vyom watches from far, that once again fate favours him. His mother can speak the truth, reveal secrets, only Sharanya won't register a thing!! Shiv tries to get across to her! Madhvi is ready to reveal all! But what pot luck! Sharanya is totally stoned! Madhvi still persists and refers to the car Sharanya wants to know about! But Sharanya jumbles up what she hears! Acts disorderly , wheels Madhvi into the house.. the scene is about Sharanya losing the plot! like Vyom does in yesterday's episode! Only with Sharanya it's a full blown totally off guard performance before her in laws! I am sure it's hard to gulp down.. Sharanya follows Madhvi's footsteps! Sharanya makes many sober tongues wag, raises many eyebrows Shiv just couldn't suppress his laughter at her bold performance! I bet he recalls they all were right keen on her! Hilarious as she now leads them into a merry dance! But Vyom watches silently.. as he notices she seems to have some causal monologue with space! I suspect, Vyom also waits for her to lose her balance, after her, wild performance !fall she did! Two pairs of arms reach out for her! One alive and the other dead. One her past love and the other her worldly presently husband. Vyom takes her to their room. It was expected. Like the dutiful caring husband Vyom eases her on the bed.
Again an important scene where Vyom openly speaks his mind, unfortunately Sharanya inebriation renders her an inattentive listener. He cautions her, he can read faces. Behind the innocence of her face too, he can decipher, that she has now began to doubt him. He regrets this on her part, as he began to anticipate that they were getting close .. suddenly his insecurity comes out of his mouth. Does she miss Shiv? Shiv too wonders silently what Vyom is up too? Vyom lays bare his confession silently.. as of now he doubts her, it's regardless if she recalls her past or not. all he knows it no one can separate them from each other! as she belongs to him for keeps! Shiv watches with noir eyes, as Vyom palm is about to touch his Sharanya's forehead! Shiv freezes his palm! Vyom senses Shiv may be back in his life.. to claim that whom belonged to him.. there feels the chill of war between two opponents defying the laws of nature this time round? Hamlet53 6.2.18
The episode is family based. The drunken scene continues. I feel Donal performed from the heart, well supported by her fellow actors Namik and Vyom.
