to the audience the colorful life of
Bollywood's Khalnayak, Sanjay Dutt. The
biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor is now finally
all set to release in June this year.
The movie also starring Sonam Kapoor,
Anushka Sharma, Manisha Koirala among
others has been in news for the longest
time over several delays in shooting. The
team finally wrapped up the movie this
month.
However, seems problems for the movie
doesn't end here. According to a report in a
leading daily, director Hirani is apparently
unhappy with what has been shot and
wants to re-shoot a part of it.
A source close to the project told a leading
daily, "Hirani wants to re-shoot some
portions. There are several episodes from
Dutt's life that have not turned out the way
they were planned. He is also not happy
with having to gloss over Sanju's love life.
According to reports, references to some of
Dutt's love interests were omitted from the
biopic which left Hirani unhappy given that
the movie looked half-baked. Hirani doesn't
want the movie to look like a publicist's
work. "It started off as a no-holds-barred
honest and brutal look at Sanjay's life. It's
not that anymore," the source added.
Recently, Ranbir Kapoor's pictures from the
sets went viral and he was looking starkly
similar to Sanjay. Going by the pictures,
Ranbir resembled Sanjay Dutt's post-jail term
look.
During an interview, Ranbir shared his
views about the film and had said, "Sanju sir
has been closely attached to the film. He has
come on set and has been amazingly
supportive. It used to be surreal for me
because I am acting like him. He used to sit
in front of the monitor and see some scenes
and be so happy. He's like an overgrown
child, who gives love to people...I feel like I
was born to play this part. He is the only
actor whose picture is on my cupboard and
to play him is surreal. Getting a physical look
right is easy. To get somebody's soul right,
the human being right- that's the hard part.
I hope I've done a good job.''
Ranbir also added, "I'm grateful for this film
and am working hard on it. I hope that
people understand this man's life, his soul
through my work."
