People like Swara or Twinkle do not realise, feminism fight should be about basic human rights for the women. It is about their needs (like toilets). Not about their choices. Why women does Karwa Chaut? Why man does Ganesh Puja? These kind of arguments lead nowhere. (Nobody bothers, if in their house, husband does Karwa Chaut and wife does Ganesh Visarjan. It is their choice). Don't start preaching what is regressive, what is not. Trupti Desai broke the rule of men only temple and dargah. After that, what happened? Did women start going there? Fact is, it was never their need.
Most stupid argument is imposing current moralities to centuries back. Most of our great grandparents had a dozen children. We don't. Can we call them regressive? They just had not realised the problems of overpopulation. Tomorrow if a person makes a film on Gandhi, is he not supposed to state that Gandhi was a ninth child, because it is regressive?
